LulzSec have claimed the person that was arrested was simply an IRC operator rather than one of the masterminds behind the group, on their Twitter page. http://twitter.com/#!/LulzSec

Well, that's what they "claim", but I wouldn't entirely believe them. They stand to lose a lot if it is someone of even vague importance! Hopefully the Government will put pressure on the whelp and more heads will roll

By the way - I don't read the Daily Mail as my newspaper of choice. The missus reads it for lols at their over-the-top reporting. I don't read any newspaper myself or watch the news, it's mostly rubbish and only half-truths and I don't trust it. Yes I'm paranoid so what

I actually follow them on twitter since the Eve attack just so I could work out if they were hitting something which impacted me but I feel guilty in that I think that by doing so, that I am giving credence to their pathetic games.

Yes.. I don't understand these tactics either. They're not really doing anything good if in the process they do harm. If they don't agree on how information security firms currently do their business, then why not just make your own firm presenting your own methods and viewpoint. If they really are better, people will follow and you've already made a good impact on the world and might even get a thicker wallet in the process to fund even larger projects.

I have little time for people who make it their goal in life to disrupt the way of life of people that actually contribute to society. Groups such as Lulsec and Anonomous always claim to have high minded ideals and only going after people that deserve it but it doesn't stop them making money out of selling people's credit card details.

Great punishment for people like this when they get caught, don't let them have access to phones or computers. Ever. Would love to see 'the lulz' when the most sophisticated piece of messaging technology they end up with is a messenger pigeon.

It is a shame that people that actually have some technical expertise waste it trying to get their own sad pathetic kicks when they could be trying to make things better. But oh well who would want to be constructive when they can just make everyone elses lives that little bit worse.

Way to go LulSec you're like the modern Robin Hoods! :mrgreen: <- this shall have to suffice as my epic sarcasm smiley.
