They are a fanbase that was set up in late 2010 demanding that Star Trek returns to our screens, following the new adventures of the USS Titan under the command of Captain William T Riker.

Their Campaign's target is to get 1,000 followers before August. This was archived on the 25th June 2011

Their petition has been launched once we have 1,000,000 signed to the petition we will then write to CBS the rights holder of Star Trek.

You can find them on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube

Whilst it would be nice to have a new Star Trek TV show I really can't see a Titan series happening especially a live action one. Animated possibly.

Firstly CBS weren't interested in keeping Enterprise going despite the fact that the cast supported it and the fans raised a huge amount of money so they could fund it. If CBS won't make a Star Trek show that the fans themselves would be paying most of the money for I can't see them suddenly wanting to do one that they do need to pay for entirely themselves and a lot of the Star Trek crew members have moved on to other things since a lot of them weren't involved in JJ's Star Trek.

Secondly the cast could be an issue. If you go with the original actors then you need:
    Daphne Ashbrook (Pazlar),
    Lanei Chapman (Rager),
    Johnathan Frakes (Riker),
    Tim Russ (Tuvok),
    Marina Sirtis (Troi),
    Patti Yasutake (Ogawa)

Some of which are getting on a bit now and I really can't see them all being interested in doing a Star Trek series again.

From a casting perspective you would have issues with some of the characters given the fact that the ship has the most diverse crew in Starfleet you have a rather odd selection of shapes and sizes some would have to be CGI. The species list is pretty long:
    Andorian (canon)
    Arkenite (canon)
    Bajoran (canon)
    Balosneean
    Betazoid (canon)
    Betelgeusian (canon)
    Cardassian (canon)
    Caitian (canon)
    Choblik
    Edosian (canon)
    Efrosian (canon)
    Elaysian (canon)
    Ferengi (canon)
    Grazerite (canon)
    Horta (canon)
    Human (obviously)
    Irriol
    Kasheeta (canon)
    Kazarite (canon)
    Kobliad (canon)
    Ktarian (canon)
    Matalinian
    Orion (canon)
    Pacifican
    Pahkwa-thanh
    Pak'shree
    Rigelian Chelon
    Skorrian
    Syrath
    S'ti'ach
    Tellarite (canon)
    Tiburon (canon)
    Trill (canon)
    Vulcan (canon)

The make up department would probably be the largest team on the production staff.

It isn't that I don't want to see another Star Trek series but I just don't think this will be it. Especially if these guys have been at it since 2010 and their target is to get 1000 supporters by August 2011. Thats a tiny number to get in a very long amount of time and if they are struggling to hit that target I can't see 1,000,000 being realistic and even if they could get that many I don't think it would be enough to force CBS to do anything.

I agree with Chris. Even if they do get enough supporters and people to do it, if the series fails, then it would have been a total waste of time. Perhaps an animated series might cut it but I think Star Trek television has past it's time. I think Star Trek is in a gaming era at the moment with Star Trek online and Infinite Space still to come. And with a new Star Trek movie coming, it might make or break the Star Trek series.

I'd certainly support it, the cast other than Riker and Troi aren't a real issue as the rest of the above listed cast are not part of canon and can be altered at the studio's discretion... I've no idea if Frakes or Sirtis would be up for doing more Star Trek, but I can't see them wanting to do another long running series (which is what CBS would be looking for if anything), a cameo appearance here or there perhaps at most.
That said I'm somewhat baffled by the overall scepticism for a new show, given the history of fan involvement. TOS staving off cancellation for a season, Enterprise too, and the constant reruns fans expressed interest in to convince Paramount to relaunch Star Trek onto the big screens and eventually onto everything else we know. I realise TOS and Enterprise were cancelled shows, but TOS still did well enough to launch everything else, and Enterprise was by and large just a bad show (which got better too little too late). By comparison the animated series is barely known by a lot of Star Trek fans, was disowned by Roddenberry (stating it as non-canon) and never really took off.
Add to this that Star Trek is now owned by CBS rather than Paramount (Viacom), this introduces a new mix of executives and top level thinkers (yes though I'm quite aware the split involved some people moving over). This does create some unpredictability to the equation, though whether that's a positive or negative thing, time will only tell.

I can't see a Titan series being made but it's largely based on my opinion that Frakes and Sirtis wouldn't be up for doing another series, and it would hinge on them. But I do applaud such movements to showcase the interest fans still have for a new series... especially one set in the prime universe shortly after the events of Nemesis, which is my preferred choice.

The only way I can see this done is by being entirely CG/CA. Look at the cinematic trailers for Star Wars the Old Republic. The quality of CG is just absolutely stellar and can make anything happen. As technology improves the costs involved go down.

With CG, any actor/actress getting on with age, can still voice act. I believe that Frakes and Sirtis both have some experience with voice acting (and were pretty good if I recall).

However, there also appears to be a 'stigma' about CG (though it is slowly eroding). That is that 'animation' is for 'kids'. Even though the quality can be near life like (Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, as an example), society in general still haven't accepted wholly that CG is not just for "kids" anymore.

Probably best off supporting the Star Trek Phase II gang... they are doing a brill job so far. Keeping the TOS feel going and getting it quite good, acting isn't best and the effects are mediocre but they're doing the best they can to keep Trek alive.
