    It's was/is fan game much like Star Trek Excalibur. It's been in development for a while, but there have been many failed "Bridge Commander 2" projects over the years. Apparently, the guy developing it was plagiarizing the work of other Star Trek community modders and passing it off as his own. As a result, their main development site was shutdown, yet it appears they are continuing "development". I wouldn't hold out much hope for the game.

    Star Trek Excalibur is supposed to be a spiritual successor to Bridge Commander, and infact started it's life as a modification for Bridge Commander.

    Everything I have seen of this 'Bridge Commander 2' looks as if it is just Bridge Commander 1 with a few existing mods. As Sharpkiller has said its not looking too promising and they a 2012 release is some way off if it ever makes it.

    Excalibur is looking the most promising of the Bridge Commander fan sequels, there was an exclusive interview in the October 2010 Herald where you can read up about it. Whether it ever sees the light of day though is another thing, it is looking great but has been years in development and there is still so much work to be done, will they really see it through in their spare time and with no word on a multiplayer will it stand the test of time?

    Given the recent situation on http://ufplanets.com/showthread.php?...ge-Commander-2 and http://ufplanets.com/showthread.php?...-Phoenix-Bondi, and lastly the fact that this thread is over two years old I recommend that recent web-links and future posting after this should be terminated to advert possible concerns over retaliatory responses from web members both foreign and domestic.
