This is the new place to discuss your musical inspirations from your favourite Sci Fi movie score right down to your musical influences as you where growing up.
I have to admit personally i was influenced by my fathers love for Meatloaf and my Step Dads love for the Beatles these are some of the greatest influences in my musical taste
surprisingly however I am interested in a wide range of music including the musical scores for the remastered Battlestar Galactica and star wars. Music is such a part of what makes us, us so please share that insight into your soul and discuss what gets your soul pounding to the rhythm (yeah ok that sounds so lame)

Murray Gold. I am the Doctor, All the Strange, Strange Creatures, This is Gallifrey, The Doctor's Theme and so much more. All epic.
Hanz Zimmer, Jerry Goldsmith and Ben Foster are great as well.
I also adore Murray Gold's work with the new series, but before him, of course, was Delia Derbyshire and Ron Granier. I think my favorite pieces from the Doctor Who are "Doomsday," "A Noble Girl About Town," "Vale Decem," "Rose's Theme," and of course, "I Am the Doctor." I also really liked "Song for Ten."
Primarily, though, I listen to a lot of Japanese music as I work for a North American-based radio station that has a Japanese music format. Part of my job is to process new music, so I listen to a lot of it. Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, aiko, the brilliant green, X-Japan, Pink Lady, Yuki Kajiura, Kanno Yoko, etc, etc, etc...
Ordinarily, I like to listen to whatever strikes me. My Pandora stations are titled "Angry White Girl Radio" (The Runaways, The Donnas, The Go-Gos, The Bangles) to classic rock (Eagles, Steely Dan), Perry-era Journey and the marches of John Philip Sousa, as well as classical movements of Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, and de Meij.
I'm pretty much all over the map with music. This probably has to do with the fact that I'm a retired musician (saxophone and piano) and singer.

I never really liked Rose's Theme, nor Donna's that much though it is easier to listen to.
The Doctor Forever and This Is Gallifrey are great as well. Love Don't Roam was a good one.
The Iron Man soundtrack is great as well, and Lord of the Rings.

My main music taste lies in heavy metal, punk rock, or German Industrial, but I pretty much like almost anything! Except MOBO, it doesn't really appeal to me, or any dance variants.
I guess it could be summed up in ten of my favourite tracks. These aren't THE top ten, there's just too many to choose from. But this is what I'm listening a lot to right now. In no specific order they are:

I do like a bit of Nightwish, and Within Temptation.
The Colonial Anthem, is good as well. And the Back to the Future Soundtrack.

Hmm, i had to really think about this one.
I grew up listening to the Beatles, Queen, meatloaf and shed loads of Reggae.
Nowadays i listen to all sorts of music, from Fantasia on a theme (Iva Davies - Master and Commander), Serenity (David Newman), Innaras theme (Greg Edmonson) the Stargate Universe soundtrack. To Metallica, Linken Park, Marilyn Manson etc.
Still have to say that my favourite OSTs are the Matrix (all of) and Firefly.

The latest that I have discovered and truly love...Tron Legacy by Daft Punk. Adagio for Tron is just sublime and Encom II is just a perfect mix of orchestra and electric. I loved the soundtrack while watching the film so much that I bought it and the Remix and then bought Tron and Tron Legacy on blu ray!

Personally, any score by Bear McCreary (e.g. the soundtracks for Battlestar Galactica) is just incredible!

the music i like yea i know its sad and old but its in my Irish blood and some of you know i welsh but i was born in Ireland and all my family are Irish i sitting here listen to this now rembering the times where my family used to have get togethers and play these music types as child i used to love them and now i more inclined to relax and chill
