Hey guys.
Over the past week or so I've been experiencing issues while playing STO and a couple of BSODs on Windows 7 which I thought I'd never have to see again. I've narrowed down the issue to my RAM (hopefully). Now this is where I need help, does anyone know where I can get 4GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM from, cheap?
I really don't have much to spend so the cheaper the better (I've seen one for £30 but that's too much for my pocket at the moment). I'm probably going to have to stop playing for a while until I can get it replaced, God only knows what damage the BSODs are doing to my HDD.
Thanks.
e.

You're not going to find a 4GB DDR2 ram stick for less than 30 euro which is 38 USD. I suggest saving. As for the BSODs damaging your HDD I wouldn't worry too much, they wouldn't cause physical damage, might have a few reallocated sectors. Also can you copy the STOP message which is the error code? Make sure auto-restart on system failure is disabled. From that I can give you a few directions to look in, unless the STOP message is how you concluded bad RAM, still would like to see it. Also have you run memtest just to make sure it's not your HDD?

Yeah done those it's, definitely the RAM. I can't remember the message exactly but it was "Driver_IRQL_" something something, I typed the full error into google and looked through several sites and they all pointed to bad RAM.
Thanks for the advice though, I guess I'll just have to try to scrape some extra pennies from somewhere.
