    So after going through technical support (I paid for the thing I'm gonna darn well use it!) a reformat was in order.

    So I sit in front of a newly slicked machine.

    Time to re-instal STO! I'll be interested to see the length of time it takes to download and instal all of the updates now. Hopefully it shouldn't be too bad, as they will have (hopefully!) crunched it down to help encourage players to stick with it. MMO fresh installs are always a time vampire, but I'll be interested to see how it works.

    If not when I downloaded it a few weeks ago it wasn't too bad.

    Oh I still have the disk, but if they've down a more modern download (as they should!) this is FAR better!

    Looks like the download is finished... what was that? 10mins? Awesome.

    Indeed, I always go for the digital downloads now. As sometimes they require less patching. I know when I installed STO on my laptop, it seemed to be a lot faster than trying to download/reinstall via Steam (where I originally got it).
