Greeting

I just installed a new firewall on my PC and ive noticed that i am getting external connections trying to connect to my PC. I don't know if any of them are bad for my PC. here is a little screen shot of them.



I have looked some of them up there from the UK. USA and AUS.

what you think?

looks like a worm in your system. do you have an anti virus / spam blocked installed? also, are you hardwired into your internet or are you on wireless?

the btcentralplus.com looks like a torrent tracker.

i am hardwired and i have antivirus and ad/mal wear software too

How do you know it's putting a worm in his computer? Don't scare someone telling them they might have a worm unless you know exactly what you are talking about. Also it wouldn't matter if he was hardwired or not, wireless is only a security risk if someone else is in the vicinity of your wireless client and can capture packets being transmitted.

Ok so I went to alshamil.net.ae which is a website from the arab countries. It's a middle eastern internet service provider, it looks legit. If you use torrents and by your connections list you do, then someone who uses Al Shamil for internet is probably downloading a torrent. It's good that you are using protection and are being vigilant, but not everything is a hostile malicious attempt to hack your computer.

I agree, that looks like a list of peers from a torrent download. If you're concerned, you can always look at installing something like PeerBlock and using the blacklists to block harmful IP addresses.

thank you guys i was thinking it was something to do with torrents. it seems to have stopped now after opening and closing my bit torrent software.

i don't recall sitting there and intentionally calling LOLOMGSUM1'STRYINGTOHACK. i seem to remember saying it could be. im sure you didn't sit there and check every single IP that's coming up in that list, just as i didn't.

wireless is a security risk in the area, yes. unwanted connections IN THE AREA could have been trying to connect to his PC. this is why i asked.
