    A Leicestershire Star Trek fan who turned his home into the Starship Enterprise has said his work could be destroyed by the sale of the flat.

    Tony Alleyne, 58, has spent 10 years and more than £30,000 transforming the Hinckley flat, but now his ex-wife, who owns the property, needs to sell up.

    omg... but i can't imagine she isn't at least a partial trekfan... she's lived with the man in the appartement for years right? So maybe she didn't want to have it destroyed either?

    Nevermind my comments... she never lived there. he built it after the marriage broke up. And he needs to sell it because he couldn't get his makeover company running. Maybe trekkies dont get rich. They're usually to eehm... good for their own good. Where others cash in they share their fortune... Confused

    I've been married to. Almost devorced now. (finally!) and the wallet is where the biggest blows came. I've got my son with me though, that's all that matters, and he makes it ALL worth it. Trust me. A kid of your own puts you on a completely different planet than you're on now buddy! And it's a great planet! The minute my son was born it was like a transporter beam put me down in an alternate reality. no kidding! I'l never get closer to a transporter feeling than that!

    I have to agree with you there.

    If marriage were about honour, trust and a lifetime of collaboration, I would definitely be agreeable to it. However, in a cosmopolitan Asian environment, those virtues are never practised, or so it seems.

    Sadly, from many friends/relatives/loved ones' experience, I have never seen a 'happy' marriage. It might be cultural issues with communication in this part of the world that's causing lots of conflict within families. It may be different from the rest of the world, but my experience in Asia has been one of materialism overtaking any semblance of humanity. Have $$$ = happy, no $$$, destroy others' lives for entertainment.
