    Problem Title

    Description of the Problem
Is there a way to un-sub from some forums in regards to using the "UPDATES" search function?

Reason I ask, is that I usually have to dig through pages to find updates/new posts that I want to read/reply to. Currently, the "UPDATES" are flooded with mainly fleet administrative process posts (Fleet Invites, Fleet Promotion Requests, Cadet Graduations, etc).

If I'm not handling those areas of administration, it would be nice to be able to do an "Update" search to see threads which may pertain to me or my interest.

I realize this is kind of a shallow request, but I feel it does have some merit. It would cut processing/loading times on the search (saving bandwidth on the server and my end) as the vast majority of administrative threads would not be loaded.

I have looked under my User CP, but the only forum button seems to be blocked. I surmise that is for setting forum permissions not setting up your forum subscription.

Users have no ability to filter the "Updates" button as it simply fetches the latest unread posts which you are able to search for. We're looking into how to rework the permissions to limit the number of administrative threads appearing.

We if we changed the prefixes for administrative threads to prepend a "Admin" or something of that sort. So instead of [Accepted] we might see [AD Accepted] or instead of [Pending] (e.g.: for signatures) we might see [AD Pending]. This way, anything administrative would be easily filtered by the human eye - just look for [AD or whatever and ignore it. That essentially what I do when I go through "Updates", I just have to do it manually in a sense.

This might be worth more trouble than it's worth, but it might solve the problem of CL3 materials that need to remain CL3 but that do tend to inundate us (applications, STO apps/promos, etc). I think it's important that those types of items remain out in the CL3 level, but perhaps have a better identifier that they are more of an administrative item.

Although, one could argue (as Chris H points out) that we need more people looking at these sorts of posts...
