Indeed. The sentance was a little too lenient in my opinion. due to his crime and his previous status, he should of been made an example of.

I heard his excuse was that he was holding it for a friend, which is a friggin hilarious defence to put forward.
@Hermanator I think that the sentence is too long really. With people like him, who seem to have no respect for society, I think we should be going down the road of rehabilitation. If he just goes to prison it will make him a worse person in the future.

Along the same lines there was a law student during the riots who nicked £3.50-worth of bottled water (i.e. 2 litres x 4 maybe) was caught and sentenced to 6 months in prison.
That's another guy's career over with before it began.

Have. Could have!!! Eeeshh. xD
Now that I got that out;
I think 2 years is probably long enough for the crime, intent is difficualt to prove unless it's written down or caught on video. He didn't actually throw the bomb and from what I know, niether did anybody else. Otherwise, sure, the sentance would've been longer.
@Wilden; I don't think rehabilitation would do anything for this guy. Look at what it says about his grades. The argument that I don't get is "struggled with his fame". Sure, I bet some people recognised him now and then, but he wasn't really all that famous. I wouldn't have recognised him if he walked past me. He had a bit part and throught all of the films, probably only gained about 20minutes screen time at the most.
Also, what is rehabilitation to you? To me it's something that people go through to get off drugs and such. And honestly, looking at him I don't think it'd make a scratch of difference. Prison won't make him worse, he'll do that himself.

Rehabilitation really?
"Despite a 50% increase in the budget for prisons and managing offenders in the last ten years, around half of adult offenders re-offend within a year of being released from prison."
Kenneth Clark the UK minister of Justice is my source, he said this in 2010.
I believe that in itself suggests that we should increase the length of Prison Sentences and focus more on Punishment.

I don't think it's a problem since the death sentance was abolished at all. That's not why jails cells are more luxurios than a 5 star hotel. It's because of all the "Human Rights" bull♥♥♥♥ that those ♥♥♥♥heads in the EU keep pushing through. Convicts shouldn't have any rights once they have been convicted. They forfeited them once they comitted a crime.

I believe you blaiming the 'Prison Luxury' on the wrong act. There is nothing in the Human Rights act of 1998 or the European Convention of Human Rights which suggests that prisoners should stay in a 5 Star Hotel like suite. yes there are many problems with both acts for example Article 10 in the Human Rights Act of 1998, but to say that it is the reason prisoners live in Luxary is simply absurd.
Luckily David Cameron wants to look at the Human Rights act and maybe change Article 10.
oh and Don't always listen to Nigel Farage yes he is funny, yes he makes some good points; but he also over exaggerates and often makes uninformed statements which would even make Theresa May tut.
Now I am going to go onto Lazereth's point.
Capital Punishment is not a deterrent from Crime. I believe American State comparison is a great example of this.
Here is a somwhat ok chart, to back up what I say (the Axis going up is the number of murders).
The Death Penalty is also a lot more expensive then Prison, The US is another example of this.
I also believe that the Death Penalty is not Justice. I'm just thankful that I live in a country where these irrational 'punishments' do not happen.

No, it's not in the acts. But it's the excuse that is used, claiming that it's a violation of their rights to not be allowed TV's etc.
Also, never heard of Nigel Farage.
Capital punishment may not be a big deterrent, but I bet we'd see less repeat offences. xD

1.Lawers will use anything to their advantage to win a case, afterall its their job. That does not mean we should remove acts which demand people of their basic human rights. The Human Rights act and the European Convention of Human Rights was set up to prevent Genocide after World War 2, Thats good in my Book.
2.Nigel Farage is the Leader of UKIP and an MEP. He is often in the news for being mean to other MEPs and the President of European Council which is quite funny.
3.No thats not the case, since the state would be committing murder on a regular bases.
