I've been hanging around the site and forums for a few days now, read and understood the entire About UFP section including the CoC, fleet guide, ranks, etc. Most of this is not new to me, having a military background and trained in FEMA's ICS structure. It seems this fleet is a culmination of military, developers and ST fans that have come together over roughly 9 years to establish a very well oiled machine and am considering submitting an application to join. My one reserve is commitment time. With a full time job and family can a casual player like me make any real contribution to the fleet? I am not solely interested in the gaming aspect of the fleet. With years in the military, corporate world and search & rescue, I have a leadership skill set that may benefit the fleet, though again, casual player. Your thoughts?

    Hi there,

We have many members who, like you, have families and a full-time job that take up a lot of their free-time. The only minimum activity requirement we ask of members is that they sign Roll Call at the beginning of each month - it only takes a few minutes of your time, and we send out reminders both in-game and out of game to make sure active members don't forget to sign it.

Beyond that, how much time you spend with the fleet is entirely up to you. You can either simply game and just in general participate in community events, or you can opt to volunteer your time to help with fleet administration. Obviously, when a member assumes a position in the fleet, more is expected of them and their activity level. That being said, we're pretty understanding of real-life circumstances, and ask that division or department staff keep us apprised of any changes in his or her activity so we can adapt accordingly.

Hope this helps answer your questions. If you have anymore, please don't hesitate to ask before applying!
