    Hi everyone,

It has been some time since I last posted, however I just had a crazy idea.
My activity within the fleet has been minimal, as I'm in my senior years of High School, and whilst insignificant in the long-run, it determines my entry to University ('College' in the USA).
Anyway, to ditch the tangent and return to my idea. In my Accelerated English class, we have been learning about the ideas of appropriation. I understand that some will understand what this is, but I'll explain it anyway.

Appropriation is taking the ideas from a text, and using them (amount varies) in another text. It is generally very subtle, and not blatant at all.

My idea was to create a Star Trek screenplay, using the ideas of one of the following: (In order of preference)

    • MACBETH - William Shakespeare
    • HAMLET - William Shakespeare
    • OTHELLO - William Shakespeare

I just thought that it may be interesting to incorporate the ideas of the past, with the visions of the future.
Many interesting values and views would be explored creatively in an appropriation of Macbeth, for example, such as:
    • Tyranny and tyrannicide
    • Gender roles (and how they've changed)
    • The supernatural
    • Ambition

Some of you may be disgusted,
Some of you may be repulsed,
But do not fear - it is only a pulse.
    A pulse, an idea,
Set in words for you to hear.

So yeah, what do you think? Smile
