    I live in London but i want to be as far away from the Olympics as possible. I fully expect at least a dozen or more terrorist cells to attempt to blow it up. ><

    Waste of money. There's more important things to spend that money on like policing health care, schools, general maintenance of roads and other things. I bet you after all of it the building will shut down after a short time and fall in disrepair due to lack of funds to keep them open. The only things that as going to be used right is the village as that's going to be used for housing. We should not of been "awarded" the games at all and the TV is going to be full of live coverage and repeats after repeats i think i might forget to pay the license fee while the games are on.

    Yeah, The olympics are Expensive, but are they worth it? I'd say.....it depends on how it's handled. I agree that there is better things to do with the BILLIONS of cash being pumped into it.

    Argument for:
    Tonnes of spin-off revenue before, during & after the games.
    Jobs, Jobs, Jobs(Albeit, they last only 5 to 7 years)
    Infrastructure upgrades & improvements
    Affordable Housing(Excluding Vancouver. They turned the Village into Ultra Lux Condos)

    Arguments against:
    TOO EXPENSIVE!!
    Terrorism bullseye on your city's back
    Traffic snarls(More so for y'all in london, dealing with the Diamond Juilblee[SP?].)

    All in all, if done right, i's BILLIONS well spent if handled right. If not..........Wasted.
