Minor question about the color of our in-game fleet uniforms. Do I have to wear the corresponding color for my character's class? For instance, my character is an engineer, but I prefer wearing a red uniform. Is it important to stay the same, or can I mix it up.

I believe you can mix it up, there was a long time where I wore red with my engineer. Since red in star trek usually meant command (Post-TOS), so I wore it in keeping with the spirit of being a ship captain in game. Don't think it matters much, but the color of your character image uniform when requesting a sig will be the color of the background it goes with regardless of your uniform color on the forum title image.

You can mix it up. While I am a sci char, I consider my primary Starfleet career path to be Command, I hold a command position in the fleet and thus I wear red, science is more my background. Other command officers don't always wear red either so there's freedom to wear your preference. Also, a tactical player could be a security officer and wear gold instead of red, etc etc.

I had a little fun deciding my uniform colour and the reasons for it so have a think and then see where you end up with it.

I used to do the red command uniform, then everyone kept thinking I was tacticalwhen there is an enormous Yellow Delta symbol next to my name. Hence the yellow uniform, and the title often saying 'Engineer' or 'Chief Engineer'.

But I do agree with the command red, seems fitting.

You are free to use any colour you want on your fleet uniform. It's doesn't even have to be the same as the one you use on the forums. Hope this clears this up for you.
