    I'm having a lot instance where everything starts out smoothly from a graphics perspective in ground STFs and as the mission goes on the image starts to freeze. I am using a wireless mouse which may be the problem, updated the video drivers didn't help. Is this happening to anyone else? Is it a server issue? Or my 6 year old computer Sad. BTW, it seems to be worse with the KDF toon than the Fed. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Tbh mate, I think probably the best solution to try would be use/set a lower graphics setting, as it could be just your graphics card struggling with the graphics being processed. I don't think it would have anything to do with your wireless mouse, however, if my previous suggestion fails it may just be general internet connection to the STO servers being a bit rough, as I have had some jittery movements recently due to iffy internet.

    I have to agree with Adster. In some missions, with a lot of special effects going on (explosions, abilities, weapons fire, etc), your graphics card could be struggling. I have a fairly robust one myself, but I still tune down shadows, grass/trees, etc. The only thing I keep high are character details.

    Do you have any other issues with other games on your network? Or even just pulling down streaming video, is it smooth or kind of choppy too? That could point to your connection or router.

    I found this section that may be helpful in determining if your connection to STO/Cryptic is suspect...

    Test 1: tracert

    For Windows, hit the start button
    Where it says Search All Files and Programs, type CMD and press ENTER
    The first result should be cmd.exe
    Right-click on cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
    A black, command-prompt window should appear
    From here type the following command:
    tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com

    Good Results:

    Values lower than 180 are ideal for playing MMOs (and anything under 100 is outstanding). Higher values usually cause lag and rubber-banding in-game. Report any values above 180ms. Right-click in the Command Prompt Window and select all. Save as a text file (txt).
