I'm looking to grab some episodes of Dr. Who. Which ones to you recommend?

First of all, which era of Doctor Who are you talking about?

Classic era (1st to 7th/8th Doctors)
New era (9th and 10th Doctors)

I've only seen new era, and I suggest that you start with the opening and closing episodes of each season. They tend to be indicative of the overall style. There are some excellent standout ones as well, but I'm having trouble recalling titles atm.

With all due respect, Dont listen to pie. You realy need to watch the ORIGINAl series to understand DR Who, Some of the bests were Planet of the spiders, Genisis of the Daleks , City of Death (the best). Tom baker was the best doctor in my opinion. But yes Definitely Watch some original episodes if you fancy low budget British sci fi comedy/fantasy at its Best. But I dont have anything against the new series. The new ones are very good and like with star trek is how the producers wanted to show it but couldn't. best new ones are all the specials. Like the Xmas Specials and stuff like that and the Season Finales They were good. but yes Definitely watch the older ones first and then watch the newer ones. the Tenth doctor makes his final appearance tomorro at 6:45 pm GMT BBC1 which is going to be Awesome. FOR the Time Lords For Gallifrey!!!!!! FOR the END OF TIME ITSELF!!!!

I'll try out new era Dr. Who. I'm grabbing the first season & i'm not even sure if the first doctor era is even up on *CENSORED*.

the newer series are more fast paced and action packed. i like the old ones because they are good funny british sci fi. some of the funniest incidents are when the doctor accidentally meets himself as another doctor for example in the 3 doctors john pertwee meets up with the previous 2 doctors on galifray to foil an evil plan. they didn't want to be there the TARDIS brought them there.

I would probably recommend starting with the 9th and 10th Doctor (watch them in order though). Then going back and watching the older ones.

Whilst the 'original' Dr Who was good I think these days the 9th and 10th are going to be a lot easier to get in to in order to get you started then you can go back and watch the older ones.

Personally I think David Tennant's Doctor is the best mainly because of how good an actor the man is but over the years there have been some great Doctors, Peter Davison was always a favourite of mine.

I was told by a friend to do just that watch them IN ORDER. I watched the Dalek episode. It was great!
