I believe you should be an ensign now if it's the exam i think your talking about, but to attain an officer position within the fleet you must find a division/department you wish to work in, and then apply for a position if they have any open, which you can find here.

Hiya Tim,

The Administrative Exam opens the door for you to fill a fleet administrative positions (CL4). Passing the course is not an automatic promotion. Only the Command Course (required for CL5+ positions) and the Entrance Exam will earn you an automatic promotions to Ensign and Petty Officer 3rd Class.

However, with the Administrative Exam under your belt, you are open to apply to any CL4 position. Which in turn could garner a provisional promotion to Lieutenant (JG).

The provisional status is reviewed after a period, where the Lieutenant (JG) rank can become permanent.

All of the positions require the basic admin course since all CL4 positions have some basic form of administration to do, CL5 need the command course for the added administration and leadership duties that the positions require you to have.

The descriptions need to be made consistent with the reality.

You might want to keep in mind that there hasn't been very many job openings since the reformed academy courses, some position listings still list the old departmental courses that no longer exist such as the foreign service officer position that shouldn't theoretically have command course just the admin course. Aswell as i highly doubt this is the place to be raising this issue.

Bingo, the job listings havn't been updated in some cases. I've appropriately updated the Foreign Service Officer advert to reflect this.

For future reference the Entrance + Admin Course allows you to apply for any CL4 position such as Foreign Service Officer or Away Team Leader while adding the Command Course to that allows you to apply for CL5 positions such as a Division Commanding or Executive Officer.

That said, it doesn't take much time to do the Command Course and passing it as well can only help any application you make.

At this time I don't believe I would be reliable enough for the positions. I can keep records and manage things just fine, but I am sure you have noticed by now my tendency to come and go at random intervals.

I was just a bit confused by the mismatch. Things like that bug me.
