Based on Vel's post on reddit, and remembering we can't have [Over] and [Pen] at the same time:

The Best: [CrtD]x3[Pen] or [CrtD]x4

(Four top mods)

2nd Best: [CrtD]x3[Over]

(Three top mods, one 2nd best)

3rd Best: [CrtD]x2[Pen][CrtH] or [CrtD]x3[CrtH]

Great job! (btw Dark doesn't use dual beams on his scimitar *ducks*) Did you use my technique? I think it may have been fixed since 3 days I didn't get hit by a burst and today I did.

Yes I tried your tactic but I did notice some oddities - such as just before the burst CE gave a pushback to ensure we were farther away and enjoy our share of damage - hahaha..

Nevertheless I went from being at the last place on charts... to being able to place top 3 very often... I feel like a new man now ! tnx again

I read that reddit post and looked at the spreadsheet, and it makes me sad that people are still calculating Accuracy overflow totally wrong. Cryptic needs to rework the stat to make more sense.

Update on Weapon Mods - 20150716

So the [Dam] mod has been changed in Season 10.5, and there's been a bit of a shake-up in terms of what's better than what.

Vel's on the ball though, and already has an analysis up before I even have the patch downloaded. :mrgreen:

So am I reading this right.

[CrtD] x4 and [Crtd] x3 [PEN] are still the top mods to have.

After that a [Dmg] mod beats out [Acc] and [CrtH] in all cases?

Depends on if you're a Tac or not, looks like. At the ultra-high end, [Dam] can beat out [CrtD].

I haven't touched this in a while, and things could be a bit outdated. (I also haven't been really performing any analysis or observations of the meta in a while.)

There shouldn't be any major changes to what's already written, but note that currently the Terran reputation weapon is so powerful that the meta has shifted to using it alongside +Beam Locators, rather than sticking to one energy type.

There's a corner case (I believe a Tac captain flying a 5-Tactical console ship?) where it's better to stick to a pure-AP loadout with +AP Locators, and if you suspect it applies to you I'd recommend more research.

I'm not sure precisely what you're asking.

At equal Mk and rarity, the Terran reputation weapon (remember this is the project weapon we can only have one of, not the generic weapons from the rep store) is strictly superior to a generic.

I'm under the impression that even lacking one step of Mk or rarity (Mk XII VR vs Mk XIII VR, or Mk XII VR vs Mk XII UR) it's still superior. I'm under the impression that even lacking two steps it's still better, but I'm not sure about lacking 3 steps.

I keep trying to use beams but I have a serious problem with beams while I am still gearing up. It is very hard to focus target stuff down while using Fire at Will and even when it is a single target it just feels so much slower to kill. I actually much prefer cannons as it can still do the AoE but feels much better at doing focus fire.

I am currently using one of the new Jem'hadar ships (recon I think) which while not an escort it does handle like one but can take a serious beating, so I think it suits cannons more anyway.

I do have a khopesh but I need to get the Iconian Singularity Core before I want to use this. I will try this as a beam boat again.
