Just curious, i couldnt find anywhere in the rules and regulations about leaving the fleet just to buy a higher tier fleet ship then returning, can someone clear this up for me? i have a chance to pick up a tier 5 ship for a good price and would like to get it but didnt know if this is allowed because as soon as i get it i want to be reinvited back to this fleet.

Hello Tommy,

I am sorry but I can not permitted anyone to join another fleet to receive a Tier 5 ship. I hold this same rule for every member of Starfleet Operations and that won't change. We are currently not far from Tier 5 ourselves and I am sure it won't harm anyone to wait a little longer in order to get the ship they want.

I hope you understand that this can't be allowed for the fact that it is already hard to keep track of members within the in-game fleet but to openly allow members to come and go freely between fleets is technically as stated above multi-clanning and puts the membership of those involved at risk.

Just to throw this out there, I feel that doing this would reflect badly upon the UFP and our community. We didn't contribute to that other fleet's Tier 5 starbase, yet we would benefit from it. That isn't right or proper.

In STO, our actions and words all reflect upon the fleet as a whole. Those three impressive letters floating above our name carries a lot of weight and respect among the STO (and Star Trek) community.

But I must say, that I do applaud Tommy for being up front and confident to ask about this openly.

The good news is that we'll have our Tier 5 in due time.

Such actions have the potential to cause diplomatic incidents, harming the {UFP}'s reputation and requiring SDC to step in and resolve the situation.

As has already been said, we're almost there and we'd like to avoid any complications in the meantime.

Especially if it turns out the seller you've negotiated a deal with turns out not to be authorized to do such a thing and is basically pocketing the proceeds. Suddenly, DRAMA!

Thats when the officers get spam messages about people wanting to get ships ( I know lots of them already do :mrgreen, and an inlux of people joining the fleet just to get a ship and leaving.

I haven't checked, can you limit provisioning based of fleet rank - because once we hit t5 it might become nessicasry to impliment a provisional rank with a cooldown period for new members.

Also expect lots of people to start switching their alts and mains - and also expect lots of envious HOK members :icon_twisted:
