Hello everyone, following the advice of Lazereth, I'm creating this thread to give you info on the latest LCARS available for windows as to date November, 30 2012.
I've made some research, found it and install it.
Although I haven't set up the voice commands, the LCARS explorer is awesome.

I only have one question before attempting to install it, I'm wondering how easily reversible it is if one were so inclined?
edit: After further research, it seems that it is a program, and not a explorer replacement as I had thought. Am I misunderstanding?
Now if only there were something like this for an iPad!

Looks cool, I will give it a try. No screenshots on the website though, and the fact it's pretty hit-and-miss with the updates might indicate it's not being developed any more.

I have played around with this over the years but unfortunately it only displays on your main monitor and I use 4 on my main, duals on the "office" computers so I have never kept it.
I thought there was a Ipad LCARS version out there ( dont own a Ipad) but IIRC there is a droid app, there is a playbook app but it lacks.

I think after reading their forum it's still a work in process improvement.
It's a program that replace the standard theme of windows. You can start directly on it.
Someone have even made a LCARS boot window to replace the "starting windows" screen

Shame it's not free.
This is a great app. The things I am waiting for (which I'm sure he's working on) are social media connections, storing the notes in a cloud (or even just backed up online somewhere), and web browser. He already added weather and file manager apps to it. And while I don't like paying for micro-apps, $3 is pretty decent!

I did find for iOS an app called STARSS, which is a RSS feed reader in an LCARS ui. I downloaded it and it is just... okay. Fun, but not quite
the total tablet conversion that I really crave. Sorry for going slightly off-topic here.
