It's not Trek as I know it. That said I still enjoy the movies as fun sci-fi flicks. Liked the last one, this one looks to be a lot of fun too. Personally I would have loved the movies to go into a DS9 follow up; but that would have only played to the fans and would probably have failed miserably at the box office, dooming any future Trek films period. Abrams has created a fun action movie that just happens to have characters named Kirk and Spock, but the films just.... don't evoke Trek. At least not to me. Should be a good action movie though, hope it comes to Japan soon!

I like the new movies but ill always be a a fan of the the ToS,TNG,DS9,Voyager,and Enterprise+the original movies over these ones. They are a great new start though.
