So, I go a PM in STO this morning from a carillo, subject Cheap_STO_Energy:

Hellon,Cheap_Sto_Energy 100K only 19$ .All kinds of Games' Cheap In-game Currency

With a link of where to buy: <LINK REMOVED>

Is this for real even before the release tomorrow? Has anyone else gotten this PM? Does Cryptic know about this to anyone's knowledge here in the {UFP}?

Just thought I'd share.

First Off, dont anyone touch it and some1 kill part of that link to stop ppl....

There are alot of scamming sites that just want your money, some are so-called legit, u pay, you get the "energy" but that's violating the Terms of Service, and could get you banned (specially risky for those with life subs)
There are rumours that cant be proved or dis-proved for that matter, that Providers themselves make these messages to catch people buying "gold" (Energy)... and get to keep any money you spent....

Use at own risk... And no advertising links on the forum....

That is a pretty good price though

As it has been pointed out purchasing in-game currency is against the terms of service since everything in the game belongs to Cryptic noone is allowed to buy or sell it, unless ofcourse it is Cryptic selling it to you and then its fine .

There is a lot of risk in buying or selling in-game currency, MMO developers don't hesitate to suspend people's accounts and it is usually pretty easy for them to stop. That said quite a few of them have poor track records at managing to effectively stop such goings on but with STO being so new I really wouldn't be one of the first to try and test how much attention Cryptic pay to large quantities of currency flying about the mail system.

The thing is, I have gotten about 15 mails overall in my STO inbox. 3 have not been spam. Seems like a bigger problem than it should be, given STO's size.
