Hi Everyone,
Sorry to do this, but reading the stuff in MY UFP on how to leave the fleet left me feeling confused.
Retirement
or
Resign
Not sure which would be the right one to use....
You all been so nice and friendly I hate to leave but have lost interest in STO so need to leave. Not sure when will be back playing STO.
Also with me being in Mountain Timezone, there will be scheduling conflicts that is the usual time Fleet Events are running I will be not abled to be online for those events and so will be missing out on lot of stuff.
As a precaution, will be removing my toons from the main fleet and KDF to give room for any new folks (this is in part due to the game's 500 cap limit).
Real life for me, comes first in all things. Hope you all understand this...
Thx for the laughs and fun, I really enjoyed being in your fleet and wish you all the best and safe travels out there.
Live Long and Prosper

Are you aware that if you're willing to visit the site once a month to sign roll call, you don't need to actually leave UFP even if you stop playing STO?

Hi Zethaebryn, sorry to hear you're considering leaving us, though I'm glad your experience here has been a positive one. The fundamental difference between resigning and retiring is the reason for leaving the fleet. For example, if a member should decide that he or she is better placed in a different fleet, they would request a resignation (similarly if they had no intention of rejoining the fleet at any time in the future). If on the other hand there is no intention of the member to leave for another fleet, retirement is the preferred option and will allow you to maintain more options should you return at a later date.
However Dark is correct in that your membership could be maintained simply by signing into roll call once a month - there are no gaming pressures placed upon our members. We find this allows members to dip in and out when their lives demand or require it, without hindering their ability to maintain membership.
The choice is absolutely yours. Feel free to post back if you have any further questions.

If you think you might come back to STO and {UFP} then retiring would probably be the best option. As said above though the only requirement of being a member is signing a roll call once a month and even then you can miss a few, this would allow you to still have member access on the forums so you could still socialise with members and you can play whenever you feel like it.
