Any instructions/guidance to join the {UFP} Steam group?

Are there any instructions or guidance to joining the {UFP} Steam group? Or an official process?

If so, could someone post these?

When I went to check myself, everything in the UFP's Steam group seemed locked down. There was no apparent "apply" or "join" function/button/feature.

It says on the UFP Steam page , invite is by invitation only.
Someone might want to check the settings.

Ditto, please. I wouldn't like just anybody to join us on Steam - that way non-members and griefers would rejoice, for some reason.

The Steam group previously, has been under the thinking that its a {UFP} exclusive members group. While it's certainly easy if we made it public, it would mean anyone from the internet can potentially join that group without being a member of the {UFP}.

As Lazereth says, it can certainly be looked into, but for now, you need to ask a member of SFC for an invitation, which usually means adding them as a friend first.

This is just a suggestion, for the interim... but perhaps a member of the SFC could start a simple thread (thinking in the Holodeck forums) with the announcement and instructions on how to join.

It can be as simple as the member replying to the thread with a "Please add my steam ID 'Silynn' to the UFP Steam group".

Quite honestly, I didn't realize the channel existed until one of new members asked me about it in a PM.

perhaps some form of invite like that of the ingame STO fleets?

I'm on steam pretty much all the time, and would be willing to do invites.

An invite request system would be nice, I looked around when I first signed up but never saw a way to join.

I probably wouldn't join, as I don't do much gaming hardly at all. But I agree with this method. I think an invite form (knowing how those work in the various areas of our forums) is a bit much for this endeavor, on both our engineers and SFC.

How should this proceed forward? Should I draft up a "Proposal" for this? Or does this need to be discussed elsewhere?

I think as a Star Trek gaming fleet, this is a great benefit for us as a whole... as many of us are dedicated gamers. While not everyone may use steam, a good amount appear to use it.

I would hate to see this capability be lost and forgotten.

It is quite possible, sure.

Just that the "Steam" community is lockable and can be controlled. Not sure if Origin or Arc have group features, as I haven't ever looked into them.
