I saw this on Facebook. It's a rather neat model.... For those with 10,000 USD to burn. For the rest of us, it provides a good look as to what the ship really looks like without all the lens flare.

Quantum Mechanix is a really great company for this stuff, I've seen a lot of their high end replicas and own quite a few of the less crazy expensive ones, like the ST2009 phaser, some Stargate ships, and of course Serenity and Malcolm Reynolds' pistol.

I wish I had money and/or room to burn on one of their artisan replicas, especially their Enterprise D.

I guess if you have $10.000 to blow on a cool model, you are going to have somewhere awesome to display it. I would hate to think of something this nice stuck in an basement somewhere covered in Cheetos dust and fingerprints /shudder

I'm not sure if any other retailers are stocking it but I noticed Amazon.com are doing a limited edition of Into Darkness that comes with a Quantum Mechanix replica phaser pistol you also get the first issue of Countdown to Darkness by pre-ordering with them.

Wallmart are doing a limited edition steelbook of Into Darkness that comes with a 1:50 scale Hot Wheels U.S.S. Vengeance.

Thanks to racism neither edition seems to be available outside of the US

I do love how they haven't just 'dumbed down' the movies but the merchandise to go with it. Includes "Villain ship". You naughty ship! Bad ship!

Personally I was a bit disappointed by the design of the Vengeance. It has some interesting bits to it but I'm not a fan of the big whole in the saucer section, far too Cryptic for me to be having huge great wholes in the hull for no apparent reason. That said the replica model seems to be very good quality, can't see them selling very many at that price though.

I really don't understand CBS when it comes to merchandise for Star Trek, it all seems to be either cheap rubbish or massively over priced rare pieces. Is there really no market for decent quality but vaguely affordable merchandise?
