PM Confirmation

Description of the Problem

Perhaps not a problem but is there any way of getting confirmation that a PM has been received and read? I know there have been a few PMs that I have sent and not had responses on but I don't want to appear pushy by sending them again nor do I want to accuse someone of not replying when they couldn't as they never received it.

A read receipt is a function of our forums, but I don't believe it is functional? Perhaps the new website redesign can enable this piece?

Although, in email, I 100% disable telling the person I read their email - I find it counter-intuitive to the email medium.

Personally, I would not want people to know if I've read their PM. Again, it is counter-intuitive to the medium of email (which our PMs basically are). If we enable this, I want to be able to disable it on my end like you can in email.

And I say this not just because it is not the intent of email, but also because I may have read your message, but not fully consumed it until a later date (I often flag PMs in gmail for later reply). So you would have a read receipt, but I may not truly have "read" the message. Again, this is part of the intent of Email.

Just to make it clear I am not asking for such a feature, I am asking whether it is possible to find out by any means. I'll give an example that might better explain things. It's not a perfect example but bear with me.

Say for example I found out that a member with lots of access was going to abuse his/her power that would cause lots of damage and disruption to the fleet but there was no one available for me to talk to directly so I sent a PM. If I were able to ascertain whether someone had received that PM I would know that I had done my part and that I could trust it would be dealt with. If I wasn't able to ascertain whether someone had received that PM I might assume they had received it where actually the message for some reason might not have got to them (their mailbox might be full for example) in which case I still might assume I had done my part and that I could trust it would be dealt with but then something terrible happens through no fault of either party.

Again it isn't a perfect example but just to clarify I am not asking for this feature to be put in I am just asking whether or not there is ever any way of knowing.
