I played the original Elite Force way back when. What a great game that was. I have also played Bridge Comander and Legacy. Currently I have started playing STO. I have bounced from a couple of different fleets trying to find a good match. The one I am in currently isnt a bad fleet but I would like have a fleet with more social interaction.

Hi Pop Tarts.

Yes we have been playing a bit of Artemis at the moment. A year or so ago a few of us were playing it every now and then but since it has recently been updated and gained lots of press from being on Steam Greenlight there has been a big renewed interest in it. It has been pretty cool trying it out with enough people to crew multiple ships. Have you tried the Star Trek mod? I gather it is still slightly unstable but it is good fun.

As for {UFP} were there any specific questions you wanted to ask? I think it is a good idea to try to find out more about a fleet before joining it as after all it benefits no-one for you to join a fleet and then find out that it isn't actually giving you the experience you wanted.

{UFP} has been around for over 10 years now we currently have over 700 members from more than 40 different countries so there is never a shortage of people to game with. The vast majority of members are here for Star Trek Online but we do support older Star Trek titles such as the Armada, Bridge Commander and Elite Force. We also have considerable roleplaying support and engage in roleplaying in Forum SIMMs, Star Trek Online and RPG-X (a mod for Elite Force which is free for all members).

We also have the facilities for members to team up in other games via our Holodeck, which is a dedicated section of the forums for discussing and organising gaming sessions for non-Star Trek games. The Holodeck also has a channel on our TeamSpeak server to help members game together and often extra channels are set up to support dedicated games, Artemis would be the most recent example.

I actually didn't find out about the update to Artemis until yesterday. I use to play Artemis with my gaming club back at school. And Star Trek mod? that sounds awesome.

For specific questions i am not sure if I have any. I am just trying to get a feel for your community. I have not done much role playing before so that would be a fun change for me. I have done some browsing around on this site and I haven't found anything that gave me bad vibes.

I have mainly been playing STO. However i would be down for some Elite Force and Artemis. Those games are awesome.

What is the name of the STO fleet?

It is pretty awesome, as I said it is a bit unstable (but then so is Artemis sadly) but it is pretty neat, I haven't played the mod in some time but back in the day there were a few cool Star Trek models, I remember we were playing on an Excelsior class and the enemies were Klingons.

I would strongly recommend getting involved in some of the public areas of the forums you are also more than welcome to visit our TeamSpeak server ts.ufplanets.com although once in you will need someone to move you to a room since you won't have access already.

What is the name of the STO fleet?

STO is the reason most of our members are here but I like many others feel it is nice to have a range of other Star Trek and occasionally even non-Star Trek games to fall back on just to provide a nice change of scenery. As enjoyable as STO is there are more authentic Star Trek games out there.

As for the STO fleet we operate 4... possibly 5 now? 3 Federation fleets and 1 (or 2?) Klingon fleets. The primary Federation fleet is UFP but because it often gets filled up we have other fleets where people can put their alts. The primary Klingon fleet is the House of Kular.

Glad to hear it. For your application to proceed you will need to leave your current fleet, if you could do that and confirm back that you have done so that will allow a member of Starfleet Command to make a decision on your application.
