    Captain's Log, Supplemental.

    The distress signal came from Romulans, somehow out in the middle of no where. A ship was damaged, but two more showed up. We were allowed to beam over and heal their near-dead commander, but they took two of us hostage and we have yet to figure out the puzzle of why they are here.

    The Romulans, the new Romulan Republic, were evidently in a battle with the Romulan Star Empire - and these Republic ships are who we found. Little did we know that the life we saved was of the infamous D'Tan. And in exchange for the alliance with the Federation and saving his life, they have given us technology we might be able to use on our own ship, which, incidentally, Starfleet wants to see first hand - at Earth!
