Looking at getting a Signature but at this time i play the game "ST:O" from my wife

You can create your character if you have sto and just get someone to screenshot it for you with decent graphics turned up. That way you don't lose all the creativity and individuality put into the character. Personally my graphics aren't all that good so this is what I have done with my char pic soon to come.

alternatively, when making a character (for the first time, not editing) turn your Avitar graphics up to max, IE Textures, Detail. and effects to 0 as with anything that doesn't have anything to do with your character. With any luck you should have MAJOR lag (low FPS) but Enough to Create your character and then Take a screen shot, After that you can click the exit button and then restore your low graphics.

I have another problem.

I use windows 7 on my good pc but XP on my brothers pudding of a pc.

Now i cant run full graphics on my brothers however mine has a quad core 2.5 ghz (10 Ghz total) and 6 gb ram. so i run STO On max graphics with around 35-50 FPS on my pc.

Problem is i take a screen shot. look in the cryptic folder and there are no files in there. none at all apart from one text document with 5 lines of text.

This means i cant find the screenshot folder hence get my character shot. does windows 7 have some sort of file cloak which i need to disable to find the folder?

I don't think ST:O saves the screenshot to any folder anywhere, you just have to do the screenshot...and then paste it into a program like paint, word, or photoshop. (That's what I did anyway, for the same reason...couldn't find a folder that the screenshots got saved to)

wow, that's a horrible place for a default SS location, it should be in My Documents! lol

anyway, after seeing that, I dug a little deeper on windows 7, and for windows 7 it is located at:

C:\Users\Public\Games\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live\screenshots

Can't seem to find out how to turn up the graphics on the game, had look on the laptop but no idea what or where it would be.

When you are in game, hit ESC to open up the menu, then click options. In options there is a "Video" tab, all the graphics options are in there. Once in that tab, you may have to click "Advanced" near the bottom...though just putting the slidebar to max to take the screenshot and then turning it back down worked for me.

Turning half resolution OFF will solve most problems with a blurry game.

I'll try that when i can get back on the game but the other things i tried just made the game very slow and not much better graphics wise.
