Hey guys, WarShark here and I just purchased a Perindine fighter. (I totally Butchered the name I know.)

I like this little thing and even posted a officer inside. Is there any way that I can send this little guy into battle with me. Both flying out to meet the coming storm.

Any thoughts?

No, the only thing you get is a non-combat flying pet, that will fly in formation with you near your ship but once combat occurs it disappears, it has no combat value in itself unless you fly the fighter yourself. The Peregrine fighter however is a good 'shuttle' to have and is one to be able to mount cannons, good tip if you want to outfit a good fighter like that mount Quad Phaser Cannons and a Mark 12 Dual phaser beam bank, its what I have and its epic, but there's lots of builds on the subject. I can post mine later if you're curious about my build. But your original question is no as stated in my earlier answer.

If you have a Armitage or any 'carrier' you can have Peregrine Fighter ships which will attack others.

Thanks for the info, and yes I would very much like to see your version of the build. It just seems to be a missed opportunity for STO. With a deploy able shuttle mid battle could be worth a patch or something.

As Stryker stated, carrier ships such as the Armitage Class (Based off of the Akira Class) can deploy Peregrine fighters, but its doubtful that STO will do that for every ship, even if its only one shuttle or fighter (which probably wouldn't be very survivable). It might be worth it to you to invest C-points in an Armitage class or other carrier if you want deployable fighters. I only have because I really love the Akira class, but the fighters have come in handy and gain experience as they survive battles.

Yea, no way would every ship have a actual combat pet, then everyone would be buying up the 'elite' pets and things would end up becoming too OP for some ships. I.E. a NX with a Elite Peregrine, yea right...

I'm fine with my Jem Dread with the double Elite Jem Bugs.

I agree, it would be a little hectic online. I just finished a capture and hold match online and I was totally getting bombarded by a Jem'hadar ship's fighters. Thank god not every battle is like that. I'm going to stick with my Venture class ship till i get my Galor.

One thing you might want to do with your peregrine is equip two single cannons, it can help offset how quick your targets will be moving whilst being able to take advantage of the craft's special ability.

A good console to have for fighters/shuttles is the point defence system.

Point defence system? I'm gonna look that up in the exchange... And two single cannons sounds like a plan, its gonna be like the maqui.

The reason the point defense consoles are excellent is because missions where you have to bring a shuttle tend to be full of smaller enemies, with frigates being bosses. The point defense consoles get major damage bonuses against those enemies, leading to a sky full of explosions.

Works great in 'Atmospheric Assault' and Galor, the PDS is only available on the Heavy Escort Refit in the C-Store for 1,000.

The PDS really is great for small ships but yes sadly for Federation characters you do have to buy a ship to get it, Klingon characters can get one from the Subspace Jump/Point Defence console pack from the Tholian drop box and these can be found on the exchange and go for a pretty decent price.
