Racial Bigot Craig Cobb, who advocates racial hatred and violence against minorities and is attempting to turn the town of Leith, North Dakota into a "All-White Enclave" with an emphasis on 'racial purity'. Well it looks like he just doesn't make the cut.

I felt that this was an amusing video to show, which highlights the irrationality of bigots wherever they may lie.

Personally I think the TOS episode 'Let That Be Your Last Battlefield' should be shown in schools as an educational video, actually that said I think a lot of Star Trek would make a great educational resource, it delivers important messages in an entertaining manner, what better way to get kids on board than that?

I can't tolerate guys like that, whether it's about race (Which is really the wrong term, since the race is Human.), gender, sexuality or anything else. It's a shame that we can't just eliminate people like that, but then everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how wrong it is.

Christopher, you seem to be under the impression that schools are there to educate people and to help them to become open minded, not brainwash them and make them compliant. :p

Uh oh Marxist Sociological theory! [Hides]

I believe in the ultimate freedom of speech, I believe that we should let these people say what they want and then we should listen. Its about tolerating the intolerant. By tolerating the intolerant, we shall really see how truly intolerant the intolerant are. If we ban these types of people, then we shall never know how truly dangerous or idiotic they are.

Out of interest do you believe that freedom of speech should also result in freedom from consequences for that speech?

Depends what you would consider a consequence? I would suggest inciting racial hatred, and thus lets say, people start throwing bricks into homes or places of worship of minority groups as an act which is truly not justifyable under freedom of speech. So one can't in my opinion try to encourage acts of violence and justify it under the banner of Freedom of Speech. Though that does not mean one can't critique minority groups (emphasis that rational critique is never bigotry), or put forward a bigitory argument that another group is superior, and that they should 'go back to their own country' et cetera.

If the consequence is just "I'm offended at that", then I'm afraid I do not support the freedom to not be offended. I think this is probably the argument that irritates me the most, mainly from Guardian Readers, the supposed left wing and the supposed social liberals; yet if it is something they don't like they ram in the ear plugs and shout to the heavens "I'm offended at that!", announcing that they have the moral high ground and that you need to humbly apologise, preferbly on your knees, so that they can then give you a BBC lecture on political correctness.

If we look at the Freedom of Speech in the American Bill of Rights, obviously in some form of relation to the 1689 English Bill of Rights I think it can be concluded that it is the most important freedom given to both the English (after Act of Union given to all) and the Americans. I think the positive nature of the this freedom has allowed the Zeitgeist [Spirit of the Time] of both nations to move forward in a manner which has been much more peaceful than lets say parts of the middle east and Asia. Obviously in the case of the American side, one would have to mention the Civil war, in which their arguments for the Liberation of the Slaves (which Lincoln didn't focus on until he was pestered by the Great Frederick Douglas) or the suggestion that the Federal Government were taking away several key rights promised to the states in the Constitution thus leading to war over two notable causes. From an outsiders (non American) perspective one could argue that if they weren't so determined to fight e.g. Fort Sumpter and then Lincoln calling for Volunteers, it could have been handled more peacefully (ideally, perhaps unrealistically), in the arena of debate. Either way I think it is important to not focus too much on that point. I think the argument to restrict this liberty in relation to safety or to clamp down on bigitory is the same logical fallacy as to which Michael Fabricant MP uses to defend against electoral reform "If we change parties like BNP will get in", dull, boring and simply wrong.

LOL, it is amazing the stupidity of some people who believe their race is pure.
