I'm mostly just messing around with an idea that I got while working on some other builds. Always the tinkerer, I wondered what a Dual Beam Bank setup would look like. Used mainly for PVE and possibly STFs, this is what my idea looks like...

If you really wanna get the most damage out of your ship you should be using Beam overload 3. Also replace a back turret with the 360 anti proton beam.
In all honesty you will get more damage out of cannons.

I know, my current build is all fleet DHCs. I'm just looking at other options. At current rate, it's a 25 or 26 DPS drop per DBB equipped compared to DHC.

it has a huge amount of spike damage, as well as you arent getting much value out of the APB in your LCDR slot

Toss in 3x BO penetration doffs if you go with a BO setup. I like to use 1 elachi DBB and 3x BO doffs, plenty of lol as you bypass ppls shield.

Since you don't have an [AMP] core anyway, and you should have the 360 beam turret, you may want to grab the set's warp core. The +10% Antiproton set bonus is not to your base damage, it's actually +10% after some (all?) of your modifiers. Not sure if that's a bug that will be fixed in the future, or a feature because it restricts your warp core choice.
Aux isn't that bad a thing have good power levels in anyway, since one of the reputation passives increases your damage skills based on Aux.

I'll need to work on the Boffs, but I noticed the warp core option. I made that switch yesterday.
What do all of you think about DBBs in 2 slots and a DHC in 1 slot or 1 DBB and 2 DHCs? I want to change things up on the ship and right now I'm basically using the same setup as my Fleet Defiant.

I don't like mixing weapon types, because you'll get less out of the relevant BOff abilities.
PvP Escorts tend to carry a single DBB for spike damage with BO, though.
Then again, Escorts tend to have so many Tac abilities that it doesn't cost you anything to have both (for example) FAW and CSV.

That's kind of what I was thinking of. It would be strictly used for PVE if I went that route. STFs rarely. I thought the idea of a FAW and CSV or CRF would be interesting to use. When I get my PC up and running again I may test it and see what it's like.

Before all the fancy ships and weapons came out I used to run on my defiant the below.
Fore :
1x Dual Beam Bank
2x Dual Heavy Cannons
1x Quantum Torpedo
Aft:
3x Turrets
The defiant was the best choice for the setup as it allowed me to use the below powers.
Cmdr Tac: TT1, CSV1, BO3, CSV3
Lt Cmdr Tac: TT1, BO2, TS3
Ens Tac: TS1
Sci: HE1, TSS2
Eng: EptS1, Aux2Sif1
There is no Beta or Omega, but you can constantly have Beam Overload, Canon Rapid Fire and Torpedo Spread running all the time, using all the "3" powers in your alpha attack and then the lower powers in your secondary.
It's a nice build and served me well until I changed to a different build, just remember to change the AOE CSV and TS to CRF and HYT if you are going to take to PvP

That's almost identical to the beamscort on my Sci Captain. The main differences to mine are that I use the MVAM console and a rommie particle gen console. I also have a single torp up front and T:HY cause I like torps
I'm usually in my Vesta but I switch into the Fleet MVAM occasionally for a bit of fun and it works just fine for PVE and ESTF's.
