    Interesting. I've done something similar for myself, but not as user friendly as this. My workings are in the form of a very convoluted excel spreadsheet. Even though my effort is only taking an educated stab at Cryptic maths, I'm getting the same modifier sets at the top of the rankings as this matrix. I'm quite chuffed with myself right now.

    Having said that, I think I'll use this henceforth...

    I would imagine that [acc] would still be king in the pvp world though.

    That link just leads to text reading "Not found".

    It doesn't matter though, the best ratio is CrtH = CrtD, which is impossible.

    CrtH = 40%, CrtD = 60%, expected return: +24%
    CrtH = 50%, CrtD = 50%, expected return: +25%
    CrtH = 60%, CrtD = 40%, expected return: +24%

    If you want to find out if you should put in +CrtH or +CrtD console, you have to calculate the number yourself, because it is always going to be dependent on your existing figures.

    I've been slowly migrating most of my builds to use CrtH and haven't been focused on severity at all. The calc Marcel just posted looks promising, but I would love to see an explanation about how the maths were applied. The base CrtH values seem way too high for me, which might be skewing the numbers. Need to get in-game to compare what the calc is showing vs. my in-game stats.

    I did a quick excel of my weapons recently.
    Expected damage = crit hits + regular hits
    = critH*((1+critD)*base damage for your weapon on your ship at a power level etc)
    +
    (1-CritH)*base
    = expected damage per attack excluding procs, buffs etc.

    Upshot of which is you're best of going with CritH consoles except when your CritH is very high, which for my Fed applied only to the +6CritH dyson torp. If its not a Rommie the CritH consoles are best unless you run with weirdly high crit weapons.

    Thats if expected damage is what you want, it might be worth getting a couple of percent more knockout blows and lose a couple of percent slow slog damage.
