A reporter standing in front of a cameraman looked up at the sky. She could see the bright flashes above her. It seemed beautiful to her, but then sadness fell over her as she realized with every flash, people were dying. The cameraman raised four fingers and counted down to one and pointed to her.
“This is Franca Paige reporting from Tau Ceti Four for ENN. The colony has come under heavy attack by aliens known only as Romulans. Sources from the Earth Starfleet garrison say the ships stationed here are, including one NX Class vessel, holding the line, but suffering heavy casualties. For now, communications are still open, but Starfleet has no idea how long that will last. Civilians have sought shelter in refugee centers all over the colony. We will keep you updated as updates come in. Reporting for Earth News Network, I’m Franca Paige. “
The cameraman gave her a thumbs up, signaling she was off air.
She looked back up, saw a much larger flash in the sky. “It’s going to be a long night” She said, looking at her cameraman.
