What are the best weapons to use against romulan ships? I'm having a real hard time with one of the rommie missions. I get....blown ta bits every time.

I think now a days any of the weapon types are good and bring something different to each build as they have different procs.

Disruptors have slight more damage
Phasers can knock a sub system offline
Tetryons have shield reduction
Polorons have energy reductions

I could go on, I think though its a case of picking what is good for you as you should be able to do any mission with any weapon type.

All weapon types have the same base damage, the only thing that changes with different types is the proc. Wixi listed a few Procs, myself I prefer AP ( AP adds to your Crit Severity, so the "proc" is always more damage) My second favorite is Disrupter as it lowers your targets Damage resistance, so more Damage is dealt when it procs. This also is team based so if you are in a team it boosts all your teams output.

Rather than looking at "better" weapons against Rommies look for more Damage resistance against the weapon type they use. So for Roms they use Plamsa so you will want to boost your Plasma resit and/or boost your resistance against all damage. Fleet Spire consoles are king here.

Basically, Pick a weapon set that suits your play style & outrig your ship with Shields & a hull that buffer against plasma based weapons. I'm down.

There are a couple of BO powers that make it allot easier to combat the rommies.

hazard emitters will help you to purge the plasma burns from the torpedoes (including the heavy ones), polarize hull will help against the tractor mines and the D'deridex tractor beam if you get to close

Engineering team will allow you to get rid of viral matrix and fire at will/cannon scatter volley is usefull for taking out multiple heavy plasma torps or tractor beam mines at ones.
