That, to me, is always the worst kind of discrimination: The kind placed on children.
I grew up in Ottawa as a french kid (well half but for many people that's all they cared about) in the early years after the FLQ, and I was in the first year of school integration of french and english in the school system. Certainly no southern school integration, but I do remember hearing our principal telling us we weren't wanted there, and parents of the english kids protesting against it. Lots of fun when you're in second grade . So yeah no one's immune, not even Canadians (though they generally care less about nationality or melanin content and more about which of two languages you speak
