Hello,
First of all thank you to all those who attended the fifth episode, I am very glad that everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and I look forward to seeing how everyone reacts to how the story will develop over the next couple of episodes Now the mission synopsis:
Our assault into Zephan territory has begun, Task Force Omega managed to secure the Beol system with relatively low casualties, but there was a smaller success with the 8th Fleet.
The Zephan main fleet was in the Omega Draconis system, which made securing the system significantly more difficult. The 8th Fleet has taken severe casualties, but managed to hault the advance of the Zephans, but only temporarily. Their casualties are amounting to almost 86%, which has put us in a very difficult position.
Whilst the taskforce has secured the Beol system, it is a very small victory if we can't secure the Omega Draconis system - the most damaged ships in the 8th Fleet have pulled back to Starbase 253, where they will repair as much as possible. The rest of the ships have been equally spread through the Beol and Serris systems, whilst we have no where near enough ships to hold off the entire Zephan fleet - it is enough to at least delay their fleet until the 6th and 9th Fleets get here.
Another problem that we now face, is that during the operation to secure the Prendal system - a Klingon taskforce engaged our battle damaged taskforce, forcing us to pull back to Beol and thus we are now fighting a war on two fronts... However, we are trying to make the Klingons aware of the Zephan threat, and thus try and turn them to our side - if this is possible then we may have a much better chance at securing the Zephan gateway.
Starfleet Intelligence has informed us that the House which has been sent to engage our forces, is the House of Metak - who is a high ranking Klingon official, who is strongly in favour for the war against the Federation, so I doubt we can get to him. However, the Klingon taskforce commander is Lieutenant General Kar'ak, who has always been opposed to attacking the Federation, but was ultimately swayed by our actions in the Hydra sector.
Is it possible to turn the Klingons to our side? or will they continue to attack our fleet, and pursue their own agenda?
Could everyone who attended - if they would like - post a kind of "Captains logs", which doesn't have to be long, to get more involved in the role-play and provide a more detailed account from multiple perspectives.
I would also like to ask, that those who weren't able to attend, write up a captains log as well, to keep involved with the story
My thanks to Ben Hurley, Chugster, McClintock, Minnow and Sammygm for attending.
Star Trek: Hydra will continue in one weeks time! See you all there!
