    Have 800 Lobi to burn and looking at these two ships. Both look solid and can't find many flaws in either. I see more Obelisks running around but wonder if that's more faddish due to the new Dyson gear vice being the better ship. I've seen Recluses on STF Sunday just tearing the place up and thought "I want". So thoughts, advice and violent assertions are all welcome.

    You probably see more Obilisks flying around as they were granted for free from a featured episode back in November. The recluse is by far the better ship. It is much more flexible in it's bridge officer seating and has access to the Tholian Mesh Weaver Frigates, which are some of the best hangar items in-game. It's Tetryon Cascade console is also very nice.

    My vote goes to Recluse... I just picked one up a week or two ago and I'm loving it. I can do some pretty decent damage with it ( @15 -19k DPS), and still dish out some crowd control. I enjoy doing eSTFs with it and out DPSing PUGs and some Premades.

    As a Fed, the Recluse is one of the only two ways to get Frigates as hangers, the other being a Lockbox ship. I also vote Recluse.

    Frigates as hangars? Are you referring to the Bug being available as a hangar pet such as with my Jem'Hadar Dread?

    That's correct, the JHAS counts as a frigate.

    The frigate hangers available to all factions are the Tholian Mesh Weaver hangers (requires the Recluse and is purchased from the Fleet Starbase) and the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship hangers (requires owning both the Jem'Hadar Dreadnaught Carrier and Jem'Hadar Attack Ship).

    The KDF exclusively have Birds-of-Prey and Fer'Jai Frigates hangers, and the Romulans exclusively have Romulan Drone Ship hangers.

    If you have the JHDC and JHAS ships, then a JHDC with JHAS hangers will outperform both the Obelisk and Recluse in non-Science/Healing roles.
