One of the reasons i use kdf a lot is because of the easy money making Marauding assignments. Usually ill try and grab all of them, including the prisoner exchanges in the Beta Ursae Block. For the prisoner exchange ill buy green doffs with at least one of the critical traits. This way i sell tons of Contraband and sometimes if luck permits, expensive doffs on my KDF chars.

But as for the Feds i have no idea where to start. So how do you make a profit using the fed assignments?

I don't think I've ever aimed for EC with DOffing, but if you want to sell Contraband you can check the wiki listing. The first five listed there are pretty common.

Barter Gold-Pressed Latinum for Contraband is obviously a trading thing, and Strike Against Fugitive Support Network merely requires a bunch of DOffs with Aggressive (though you need the Facility 4028 Fugitives chain completed).

You should look into getting several copies of Jhamel Thoris, the purple DOff reward from a Critical Success on Support T'ong Nebula Colonization Efforts. She usually has at least one Critical Success trait (usually two) for the contraband assignments like Inspect Civilian Freighter, Confiscate Contraband From Crew, or Investigate Reports of Trafficking in Contraband.

I regularly send my DOffs off on those assignments, and have more Contraband (around 380, iirc) than I know what to do with.

Ya I never thought of doff missions as an EC source either. The only decent source I found Fed side are the Trade missions.

I swear I finished every Colony chain in Klingon space and I didnt get that doff, ill go back and take a look, maybe I missed T'ong. And if you dont know what to do with Contraband why not just sell it on the exchange or trade them for Dilithium?

Remember that the DOffs listed in the link don't come from completing the colony chain. Once the respective colony chains are completed, they unlock a Support X Colonization Effort assignment. Upon a regular success you get a Refugee DOff, and upon a critical success you get a specific purple DOff in addition to that.

I do trade my Contraband for dilithium if I pass near a starbase, and occasionally sell them (one at a time) on the Exchange. I'm just lazy, and since I have over 120 mil EC and 300k Dil I'm not particularly inclined to overcome my laziness.

To kick start my Fed assignments ill definitely keep it in mind. How ever i do prefer to sell my contraband during times when there a fair amount of players on. So i don't risk lowering the price of Contraband by throwing a whole bunch in individually. And atm i haven't got much EC so these acts of micromanagement get me a few mill daily. It's what ill do till i find a better easier source for EC.
