I don't have max reputation for Omega, Nukara, etc. I saw a dev blog talking about reputation changes, but I am not 100% sure what it means or how I should proceed based on the changes that will be coming. Should I try to get to tier 5 before the changes, and if so should I try to obtain the tier 5 gear once I get there? Should I just wait and not do anything?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Reputation is changing, but it changing for the better.

Basically the way the Dyson rep is, the old reps are changing to that method. So instead of get commodities and Hypos, Shields, Power cells, XP, Marks, and whatever else. When the new system hits all you will need is Marks, A little EC and a little XP then the project starts.

The other change is that all tiers will have the same requirements so no increase for higher tiers. Finally the current Dyson commendation is being removed and replaced with Marks only. What will happen is instead of doing the daily mission to get a Dyson commendation, you still do the daily but are give the normal marks plus an extra box containing enough marks to start the Large and Small project.

So it's up to you if you want to hold off or not, it will be slightly better in the new format. But it's a personal thing if you want to wait.

I'd recommend if you are still in need of Dyson to do Dyson. Since its only about functionality. Rather than actually changing core things.

If you are working on the other tiers (like me), I would recommend waiting for Season 9 to finish those. It'll make the process much faster. I mean I hit T4 in Dyson easily. Though anyone who's at end game that isn't new may already be finished or at T4 in the others.

The mark cost should remain the same, however the ability to earn marks will get easier with the addition of a daily bonus award that will allow you start a daily project after just one appropriate mission per day.

If you have multiple characters, you can also cut the grind time in half using sponsorship tokens from any of your other characters that have already completed the grind.

Currently Omega is 20 marks for 2000 reputation. Any clues on how many marks it'll be after the change? I can come up with the commodities but am mark challenged, so want to do it now if it'll cost more marks later.

According to the blog post, 30 marks will get you 2500 reputation once every 20 hours. The daily bonus will earn 55 marks, in addition to whatever you'd normally earn by doing whatever it is you're doing.

The hourly reputation projects seem to be only for the speed freaks. Paying 200 reputation for 15 marks, hourly cooldown, and capped at 5 per day, these are highly inefficient with the daily projects yielding 6.25 times as much for the marks. Total time from zero rep through T5 will take 40 days & 1200 marks if doing the daily project exclusively. Adding the 5 hourly projects each day takes almost 29 days but requires 3000 marks.

Personally, I can't wait for my stuff. I'm gonna max out my reps and get the goodies as quickly as possible for the character I'm currently working on. The others, however, will earn theirs once they're sponsored, and once the S9 changes are in.

As of the latest patch notes on Tribble, hourly rep projects will be capped at 3 per day per rep for Season 9. Any additional hourly projects past the initial 3 will only reward dilithium after S9 launches.

Cryptic is trying to time-gate end-game progress like crazy lately. For most of us, this change won't really matter due to the fact that most of us run the daily project only due to the inefficient returns on hourly projects as stated above.

so based on that, it sounds like getting up to omega tier 2, with current marks, before S9 would make since. (20 marks for 2000 rep)

after tier 2 is goes to 28+ marks for 2000, so not as cost effective 30 marks for 2500. and at that point marks may be easier to come by.

Season 9 will make it universally easier on both the EC and Expertise (Commodities, Consumables and Expertise no longer needed). So if those aren't a concern, T2 is a good idea. Also, keep in mind that anything from the blog post is old info and subject to change, as with the new cap of 3 hourly (and pointless) missions per day.

I just noticed that the project under "events" reputation to turn in the 14 multidimensial transporter devices is no longer there.

can i still get all the goodies, marks, dil from running those 14 mirror event missions?

I was holding on to them until they have a bonus mark weekend.

this would be sad.
