ANNOUNCEMENT: FLEET CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE!

As mentioned in the previous announcement, the Korolev class heavy cruiser has been launched. However, due to the wide variety of proposed ship designs the VGE and CEC were tasked with creating a selection of these vessels to form a spaceworthy fleet. The deadlines were met and all of the new ships have now been launched.

They are on a combined shakedown voyage headed by Libran's Excalibur. Being temporarily stationed in the Northern Sea - the entire fleet will test new systems and equipment prior to any research expeditions.

The following is a list of all new Vallisian ships in order of construction:

- Ares
- Korolev
- Magellan
- Hermes
- Geronimo

This new fleet (and the technology which allowed each ship to be built) now opens up new opportunities for the people of Vallis.

Following the onset of the Missouri Crisis and the outbreak of the Lantean Cold War, the government of Vallis has been in possession of the Lantean battleship Missouri. Since being detained for illegal drug trafficking, the ship has been examined thoroughly by CSUN officials. As this war continues, the combined CSUN states agreed that maintaining an outdated model was not a suitable course of action - unfortunately neither was returning the ship.

Earlier this afternoon, the crew of the Missouri - minus the Captain - were allowed free passage back to Lantean territory. The Captain has been imprisoned rightfully under CSUN law for drug trafficking and reckless endangerment of lives. The Captain shamed himself by actively attempting to flee capture whilst simultaneously abandoning his crew during the initial raid.

Given the current state of war between Vallis and Lantea, the Vallisian government gave permission for the Missouri to be towed off the coast of Vallis and scuttled. This task was completed by the Grand Fleet at 15:00 this afternoon.


The Missouri buckled unexpectedly quickly under light fire. Despite being considered the flagship of the Lantean navy, the first volley crippled the unmanned vessel. The Missouri proceeded to slowly break apart under its own pressure and came to rest in the shallows.


The government of Vallis warns all international ships to give the wreck a wide berth. Due to inherent flaws in the ships original design, much flotsam and jetsam has drifted into busy trade lanes. Vallis will gladly recompense any nation or company which is affected by this interruption of established trade routes.



As breaking apart this wreck is considered too expensive and dangerous a task to be viable, the Missouri will remain in its current location for the foreseeable future. The wreck is considered to be under Vallisian jurisdiction and any who attempt to approach or scavenge from this site will be detained under CSUN maritime law.

You lie Mr President! we know full well you did not return the officers and crew of the USS Missouri. The fingers of those men and women were sent to my residence marked special delivery, not only that the wireless backup shows visual representation of your soldiers murdering the crew and officers. it's no wonder Congress has dubbed this the CSUN massacre, you take control of our ship then blow up said ship and on top you demand your technology to be returned! Perhaps this would have been the case if you had returned our ship I'm afraid at this point your cannons will be locked away inside the federal vault until such time as your government's attitude changes.

Some time ago you openly declared war on our state we chose to regard this as purely one way that we would be defensive in the sense that peaceful relations could be established down the line. It seems to me that your intention is to continue the war on the basis that all started on stupid reasons in the first place, so for the last time I echo my previous statements would you be open to a treaty or a cease-fire? May history reflect the decisions that we make today. Be the leader that ended the war a hero not a tyrant with more blood on your hands.

The government of Caprica does not condone war, nor is there any value in spreading falsehoods.

The Supreme Leadership of Lantea constantly implies it is innocent of wrongdoing, yet your insistence on withholding stolen technology only further shows to the international community your disreputable and duplicitous nature. The people of Lantea are hardly accountable for the deeds of their leader and as such, they have Caprica's sympathy. In fact, several drone missions have dropped food aid to the needy and malnourished people of your nation over the course of this war.

The attempt of the Lantean Supreme Leader to twist truth into propaganda is unnecessary and astounding. The prerequisites for a ceasefire are simple: relinquish technology, admit guilt and cease military expansion for a set period. These terms are reasonable and fair. Failure to comply will result in greater military presence and a complete end to civilian supply drops.

CSUN does not look for war, yet it will not sit idly by and let rogue nations flagrantly violate international law and nor will it allow foreign regimes to flourish at the expense of their people.

I feel I also need to remind you, Mr President, that you dubbed the event as the "CSUN Massacre" not your congress. Whilst I wasn't going to bring up the convesation we had in your office, when I came to talk to you about the whole issue, but it seems I need to bring it up.

For one, it wasn't a massacre, as the CSUN - regardless of what you think - would never commit the act that you are stating. Why would we need to murder your crew? What possible benefit would that server CSUN?

The fact that you keep saying "we're not going to be the aggressors" is because you know damn well, that if you were you'd be even more in the wrong. Now I echo my fellow CSUN Presidents echo to relinquish the technology, as it was technology that was given to you - within the spirit of CSUN policies and friendships, which you were bound to when you were a member.

Now that you are not, you are illegally holding technology that doesn't belong to you. To be honest, I am surprised at your behaviour, you constantly go on about how you want to be peaceful, and not be aggressive and yet the act of hoarding technology which you were given under CSUN policy, which by law you needed to relinquish when leaving CSUN.

If those conditions are met, then I am sure that we can resolve this conflict, but it is seeming more and more likely that diplomatic tensions between us will be on the rise. I don't know whether you are blind, or just ignorant, but you are naturally being aggressive against 4 of the most powerful nations within Utopia.

We want peace, and we want things to be resolved, but it can't be whilst you produce this propoganda and mention the "CSUN Massacre", as you did previously, when Libran has sensor logs of the entire engagement.

Libran has remained neutral, and tried to help you. It is only now that I realise, I can't help you, as you aren't helping yourself. That is something I cannot help you with.

Return our Property and we shall do the same on natural ground. lets sign a cease fire agreement the lantean People will stop all military advancement for set time but I must remind you if the agreement is broken we shall continue our hope is that it shall not come to that.

Gilt shall be admitted as well, to answer your statement yes you perhaps are the biggest nations but that does not diswade us from the fact its a two way street to get you must give.

Let me also remind you, to quote you: to get you must give. You claim you have been wanting peace with us, and yet you almost do everything to undo that want.

For one, I don't understand how you can be so naive to think that a blown up ship can be returned to you. A much as I want peace, and yes I do want peace - you just seem to not grasp the concept of diplomacy.

The Federation will remain, for the most part neutral, but in this instance I stand with my CSUN allies. The demand for the return of the technology, is more diplomatic than the other option: collecting the equipment. Which would result in the destruction of your defenses, and your navy - this is not a threat, this is a fact.

Even without Libran's support, the 3 nations of CSUN have more than enough firepower to destroy yours forces 10 times over. Once again, this isn't a threat, it is simple fact.

I will have to leave judgement on the cease-fire to my CSUN colleagues, as this conflict hasn't ever involved Libran - until now.

Hopefully this whole situation can be resolved peacefully, but ultimately this is down to the Caprican and Lantean governments. Libran is here to help out where necessary, and hopes that military action won't be necessary to resolve this situation.
