Federation News Service - Executive Officer
CL5 - Tier 5 (Captain)
The Executive Officer position within the Federation News Service is the second most prestigious position within the department. Should you be selected, you will be assisting in overseeing the Community's News Area. In addition to writing news articles yourself, you will also be assisting in every aspect of the news operation, from assigning stories to publication and everything in between.
JOB DUTIES
- Assist in managing all aspects of the Federation News Service
- Work with the Commanding Officer to ensure articles are edited and published on time
- Scout out potential Star Trek Stories for the Writer Staff to cover
- Maintain an activity level as deemed appropriate by the Commanding Officer
- The successful candidate of this role would report to Cehus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- It is required that for this role, you must have passed and completed the Entrance Exam, Administrative Exam and the Command Exam..
- A minimum of 3 months CL4 Experience.
- Regular Forum and teamspeak activity and usage.
- Is it a CL5 position? Yes
PLEASE NOTE: If it is a CL5 position, the successful candidate will have to sign the Command Position Agreement before entering the role.

-A well rounded knowledge of proper written English
-A strong interest in the news. (This doesn't particularly have to be Star Trek News, if you follow current events, then you meet this requirement.)
-Capabilities to perform oral interviews.
Conventional thinkers need not apply. As aficionado of crazy and occasionally stupid ideas, I appreciate those who can come up with unorthodox ideas and make them work.
When sending in your application, please include: A complete service history within the UFP, One CL4 ,CL5, or CL6 who would vouch for your character and work ethic, and three ideas which you would implement to improve the Federation News Service.
In addition to the duties and requirements listed above, as this is a CL5 position, attendance at Joint Session meetings and participation in the Starfleet Command section is expected and required.
