Hi folks. I'm looking to purchase a new ship, but I'm not really sure what I should buy. These are the ships I own and they are only Federation based and reason I own them:

Old Main Purchases
Kumari Set - Last Starfighter. Only reason I bought it. Might make an Andorian Captain for this.
Gladius - Another old main option, picked this up because I wanted the skin for the Fleet version.
Heavy Escort Carrier Refit/Retrofit - I wanted a torpedo bomber. Didn't work exaxtly like I had envisioned.
Sao Paulo - Totally bought this for the Dual Cannons only. Sad reason, but yup.

New Main Purchases
Regent - Because I like the Sovvy
Galaxy Retrofit/Refit - Wanted to build a Galaxy that didn't suck.
Avenger - Wanted a battle cruiser

Off-hand
Odyssey Set - A gift from my folks. Has been a better purchase than I would've thought.
Rhode Island - Free from Cryptic. Nice little ship. I see why people like it.

So I'm kind of wondering what I should purchase with the 2000z I've got. I'm very Federation based, as you can see which means my next purchase maybe should stay in that ball park. However, I'm also thinking that perhaps if I invest some money into the KDF (tactical) or RRF (science/Fed) I might play those characters more. Since I've invested something into them. Of those, I'm leaning more towards KDF since with my current RRF, I could get around in a Federation ship.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

With so many ships out there, it's kind of hard to give any direction without knowing what playstyle you are going for at the moment. Saying you want a cruiser would help narrow things down for instance, but even that could use more details.

You could always just get some fleet ship modules and upgrade one of your current ships as well.

Im very much in the same boat as you buddy, Got so many ships across all my characters that its now getting troublesome when it comes to buying a new one.

Cant decide whether to Spend money on my Fed Tac or Sci, whether to kit out my Rom Tac or to push ahead, get my KDF Tac to 50 and buy him a new Shiny........

That's the main reason I don't do much on my alts. Choosing what I want on my main and grinding for it is trouble enough without adding more characters with different goals and requirements.

Also I don't have to be tempted my new escorts.

Yeah, sorry. I was thinking it might be a good idea to purchase on my KDF or RRF to actually make me invest in them since they don't have anything yet. With my Fed though, I don't own a C-Store science ship and have been liking the new science tricks since leveling up a new science fed guy.

That's probably my biggest problem. I'm not really picky on which ships to play, since I've sort of went out of my way to learn how to make a good Operations Oddy and Exploration Cruiser.

If we're talking per faction, I guess it would be:

Federation - Science
Empire - Costume Designs Aplenty
Republic - Unsure, though I sort of like the idea of her running around in a D'D kitbash (using I think the refit).

My problem with the Republic is that I haven't touched Isha in so long that I don't really recall anything. So its... Well, perhaps with the Republic I should replay it with a new character and swap over to that one.

I can't give much advice KDF side, sadly, though I think the Mogh is supposed to be a good ship. For myself, I have been contemplating the big dyson pack, it's more than what you are talking about spending, but the 9pack gives you ships to play on all your factions, and is a good ship. I know you've started a Fed sci at the least. Aside from that, for Fed sice science vessels all I can say is the vesta is a perennial favorite (though I don't like it, too squishy), but I'd recommend just picking up some FSM and grabbing a fleet Nova or Fleet Luna. They lack bells and whistles but are solid enough, but your mileage may vary.

As far as romulans go, I would recommend the starter pack. It gives you both T'Varos and some other bling, the Starter T'varo comes with an awesome console that can help any romulan ship while the T5 T'Varo is a decent ship in it's own right (at the very least consider the T1 Tvaro for the console). I don't think the D'D is so hot, but that could just be me.

Yes, the T'Varo is definitely nifty. Its Special Ability is a unique Plasma Torpedo that hits with the force of a Tricobalt. It is the one from the Rommie's TOS debut episode. Plus, it can fire Torps while Cloaked. It makes for an excellent Sneaky Torpedo Boat.


Now, my Rommie, I play her as a Tal'Shiar Operative. I use the Tal'Shiar Adapted Battlecruiser. Its Special Ability is cause enemy ships to attack other instead of you. The downside is that it can't use Singularity Powers. But, you can get one off of the Exchange and not have to spend any real-world money. Plus, it just looks cool.

Very interesting. Thank you for that, because I honestly did not know that that's the reason why the T'Varo is awesome. Thanks for that. Hm, so if I'm buying ship for my Romulan, the starter pack is the best option. Gotcha.

If you're investing in your Romulan, isn't the Scimitar still one of (if not the) most powerful ships in the game right now? The drone hanger is certainly the top hanger, outperforming the JHAS.

I stopped playing for massive DPS quite some time ago. I'm more into playing what I like to play. I also think the Scimitar is an ugly ship.

I have heard it described as a Duck Bill With Wings.

If you don't care about DPS you ought to make a Ten Turret Build (eight weapons and with the two console turrets). They can use Cannon Skills and one of the console turrets auto-protects against High Yield Torpedoes.

I did it for a while on a Galaxy-X. All of the turret rounds fire out of the same location. It was 360 degrees of Machinegunny fun. With a Phaser Lance for when a target would fly out front.

It was fairly weak damage-wise but it was by far the most fun ship set-up that I have used. Its great for a PvP Support Craft. You can throw out Heals left and right. Plus when you have a 360 Fire Range people tend to forget about that heavy Lance. Its mostly an Insult Kill because they really should have known better.

Thanks to all for the suggestions, I eventually made my purchases. Thank you so much. Settled on trying to give each of my 3 factions the most famous ships. The D7 and the DD. Would've been Vor'cha and D'D to keep a TNG to those 3, but sadly I didn't see a purchase for the Vor'cha (and someone will likely point out I missed it). But its okay, because the D7 K'tinga version gives the D7 like 4 different outfits to wear and the purchases allowed me to make multiple ones and even have some left over zen.

So again, thanks for all the suggestions! Had a ton of awesome ones. Highly appreciate it and likely will base my next purchases on those.
