Greetings all,

In an effort to get out some guides, I am looking for feedback on what the most common game related guides people look for, this will help us to target any gameplay tips and guides to those which are found to be most helpful. If you have never used a guide for STO, that's a valid comment as well and we would like to hear those views too.

Anything you can tell us about what guides you use or would like to see because of a lack of information, we shall look into it.

I would suggest a guide to consoles and what they do.

I've been wanting to start a thread here on ground combat. Ideal kit powers, good BO abilities to have, favored weapon types, captain skill point allotments, overall ground team design, and specific mission needs (STF considerations, AP shields & armor in the Dyson Ground Battlezone, general PvE team setup, etc.).

I'd like one on how to make a ship with high damage. It's so that I'd be more useful in STF. I've found a few but there are confusing and/or poorly written.

Dont know if that could be called a guide but i always like to read about "uncommon" ship builds.

With the traits revamp, perhaps something on traits.

Not just for the Captain/Player, but what traits make Boffs super-valuable or useful.

Three things come to mind...

1. Firstly, +1 to the trait revamp. I didn't fully comprehend before it all changed. Now I have no idea what I should be striving for or what the best rep gear is..

2. Speaking of gear, what is available from 1st fleet bases for consoles, weapons, etc? I don't think we can really see what's available if we aren't a member of it, isn't that correct? I think it might be helpful to get an idea of what fleet items we can get, or maybe which fleet items are the most useful.

3. Probably most true for me... I feel completely overwhelmed about how to go about decking myself out in so many ways. I saw that thread recently posted with links to some resources, which should help, but even with all that, I feel like I'm staring at Mount Everest when I'm trying to figure out what I should be doing and what gear I should be getting.

I realize we have different builds and different professions, but maybe a general process or things that should be considered as we try to map out the "end game." Apologies if guides for any of these things already exist and I've missed them.

We will try and review some sort of build advice but I must stress that a build is highly specific to a great deal of factors and can change each week depending on patches. Perhaps a brief coverage on what skills cover what.

Consoles and traits we can also have a look at but STO wiki is particularly useful in this regard.

I was thinking a guide on space and ground skills It would cover what abilities, ship power level, ship and personal stats IE: crit chance and damage resistances. Basically to help everyone make informed decisions on where to spend their skill points.

A follow up guide could be Personal and Bridge Officer traits that give a boost to a skill. Like the space trait Accurate: +10% Accuracy, which is the Starship Targeting Systems skill.

Was also thinking of a shortcuts guide like dragging an item to the Exchange search bar, or control + left click an item to link in chat, control drag to split stacks of items to name a few.

I'm new to 50, so what I'm looking for right now is a breakdown of the uses of each skill, and what kind of weapon types are sought after. Also, a guide to consoles, since I have no clue what I should focus on getting.
