Hello all,
Newcomer JrodBlue reporting for duty! I've been playing Star Trek Online pretty much ever since it was released, but only now, after declining countless fleet invites in-game, have I finally decided it might be time to check out joining a fleet. After glancing through the threads at STO's forum's fleet section, the UFP immediately caught my interest. Your professional looking website, organization and member size/activity sealed the deal. I'm looking forward to being a part of the team!
I've always been a Trekkie at heart. What I've always loved most about Star Trek is the ships, Federation ones in particular, which is why STO appeals to me. Though I like most Feddie ships, I do prefer newer, more "modern" looking designs such as the Akira, Defiant, Vengeance (Into Darkness), Sovereign, Tempest (STO), Odyssey (STO) and Regent (STO) to designs like the Constitution and Miranda classes. My all time favorite though would have to be the Andorian Kumari class from ENT (a ship I wholeheartedly wish Cryptic would add to STO; they already have the NX and D'Kyr, why not Kumari). Another thing I like about Star Trek is its depiction of galactic politics/espionage/tensions. TNG's episodes about the RNZ, ENT's episodes about Andorian/Vulcan incidents, the Dominion War, that was my shizz yo.
As for my favorite series, I'd have to say either ENT or TNG, with my favorite movie being either First Contact or Into Darkness.
As far as my life outside of Star Trek, I currently work in the kitchen of a BBQ restaurant. I am an Eagle Scout and I am in the process of enlisting in the United States Navy (though I won't be going anywhere for a long while).

You had me at Vengeance! I also really enjoyed RNZ episodes and the entire Dominion War arc in DS9. 
We also have a lot of active and former military vets in our ranks, so I think you'll find our community structure familiar and easy to understand. Resistance is futile...
