Well I started watching Trek in the beginning of the year. Since then I have been enjoying it. Right now I am a few episodes from finishing Enterprise and Voyager. I thought the game looked really cool and it was free, so I got it. I'd need multiple hands to count all the mistakes I've made in STO, but that's how learning happens and there are plenty of people who will be willing to answer questions about anything.
Voyager I must say remains my favourite series, Janeway also my favourite captain, temporal episodes are always fun in all of them, I am tempted to find some episodes of Voyager and rewatch them now. I don't know how far you are, so hard to discuss without spoilers
