As the title says I have no clue what to do now. So i am asking my fellow cadets and officers to point this somewhat lost soul in the right direction. I have just no idea what to do.

So if you could lend me some knowledge and point me in the right direction then I would be very grateful....also I would be willing to line up a round for everyone at the bar.

Welcome, you now have upgraded to Star Trek "Grinding" Online, you can now start the reputations.

Currently there are five Reputations you can do:

Task Force Omega, New Romulus, Nukara Strikeforce, Dyson Joint Command, 8472 Counter-Command

Each of them offers good passive and active traits, they are very useful in PvP but not mandatory in PvE if this is your first character that reached LV50 it will take you per reputations 40 days to Max it out.

All other characters can be done later in 20 days, via Reputation Sponsorship.

The reputations is pretty good, great weapens you can get from it (I found this out when I hit lvl 50 during the cardassian campaign and was using Antiproton weopens for the rest of the game)

I've recently completed the Omega Taskforce Reputation and the goods are great! i'm now working on the Dyson rewards! It's going to take me longer though as I only have 1 character as I like my character You can also re-do some missions and build up experience that.

You could also retrain yourself. Loads of things

If you only have one character, I'd like to point out that due to the daily bonus, it's more cost-effective (where cost is time/effort) to work on all of them at the same time.

Once you hit 50, you basically play the queues and battlezones for the most part.

if you want a goal, pick a ship and build and work towards maxing out your gear. Grind the reps for the traits and sets (and possibly weapons), and grind up a ton of fleet credits to get your ship outfitted with fleet consoles and weapons, and grab yourself those active doff slots.

What I do is have a build in mind before I even make a character. Once I hit 50, I start grinding the reputations that grant the passives that I want to use. Depending on how you want to gear up, you will likely need some combination of dilithium and fleet credits to get the best shiny things. There are a multitude of ways to get either and as was mentioned before, is a grind - but hey that's what MMO's are!!

What ship do you plan to use? What type of captain are you etc.

Once you hit 50 - it's time to develop your character - as many have already pointed out build your reps. As Dark said, do all your reps at once, but of equal importance is finalizing your build concept. You now have a million options in front of you and if this is your first character then that can be daunting.

Consider the following, what is your focus? PvE or PvP? You may enjoy both, but what do you like to spend more time doing? This very well may impact your build concepts (spike damage vs. sustained dps). What type of ship (cruiser, escort, science) do you like to fly? Have you tried all three styles of ships on this character? Some people new to the game think that just because they are a Tac they need to fly an escort and thus miss out on the joy of a tac in a cruiser or the "Scicort" style of play. Once you have a ship style you enjoy - then you will probably want to respec into the BoFF abilities you are using and gear the ship out. This may be through reputation or through fleet gear (or a combination of both). There is also the quest for finding the right Duty Officers to enhance your Bridge officer abilities.

During the time it takes to do this you can lean the strategies of end game content, run with people, create a Klingon and/or Romulan and experience the style of play that they offer. I suggest even trying out different captain career types until you find a combination of something that just fits YOU the most - I have a friend that played a set up for a year before branching out and he found that a Science Captain suited him best...

None of this will be done in a month, or even two, so take the time to experiment around with things.

Something I forgot to add: crafting will be getting a total overhaul in the game late this month, this is something else you can work on. There is a thread on the forums here (click me, I'm a link) that talks about it. I imagine many of us will be doing a lot of that come season 9.5 so you'll be right there with us if crafting interests you.

Something else you can do is the accolade hunt, trying to get all the accolades, and max your Duty Officer "reputation ranks."

Xu Dan gave some great advice. Look at level 50 as your opportunity to work on your build and your character. Try different builds, have fun with all of the new group queues that have opened up to you, and play any and all of the episodes you may have missed along the way.

Some of the content can be repetitive, but part of the fun is exploring everything that is available and trying new things.

Well cruisers and Science ships can be tough nuts to crack if done right. What career path is your captain?

Dilithium - you can only refine 8k a day, there is an officer on ESD that will allow you to do a little more every day too. Attaining ore is fairly easy - and soon you will have more than you can refine in a day and your overstock will grow... If you do the mining mission at the fleet mine, that is probably your most efficent way of getting it. Every STF you do gives you Dil as well. Another way, is to buy it with Zen (if you have a lifetime sub you get a stipend of zen monthly and you can put some of that (or all) towards Dil...

Nope still an issue that right now i am kinda ignoring. Since it is well making me a bit upset.

Also for career i am a science officer. But no clue how to spend the points on him. So i know I will need to re-train. I know this is kinda making me sound like I have no clue of what im doing and well its true I dont. Trying to learn and still have fun and so far it is working out. I am use to learning a game I am playing and trying new things. The other MMO i came from I did TONS of research for my class and spec. Lots more info on that game. Kinda sad that the same attention is not given to this game.

And thanks for the tip on dilithum....well be helpful since i would like to get my stocks up.

Also wanted to ask if anyone likes to chat on TS I log on but no dont like to bother people that might be chatting.

What times are you on? I can pop into TS during your "on time." There is actually a significant amount of info regarding builds on the STO forums (as well info on mechanics on STO wiki) and on here.
