So I'm looking at getting either the Elite Swarmers or Elite Scorpion fighters for my launch bays (Fleet Atrox). I have in no way finalized my gear set on this ship - but I was thinking of going either fleet adv anti proton (with the omni directional beam array) or romulan plasma. Both are good - and I know both fighters are good. So my question is, does anyone have any experience with these fighters? In your opinions which are "better." Or am I barking up the wrong tree with either of them?
Current gear:
Plans
- Tac consoles will upgrade to fleet vulnerability locators
- The flow capacitor will be replaced by an embassy shield emitter (which will either add a plasma proc to the anti proton or boost the Romulan plasma damage.
- The Energy Signature Dampeners Resist4B will be replaced by a pair of fleet nutonium (+turn).
- The existing nutronium armor will be the zero point console... still undecided on this, but I'm a day away from unlocking it so it will be worth a test.
- So far the Dyson Set works well - no complaints there. Open to suggestion on that.
Any feedback and suggestions are welcome

I have both sets of fighters and they are both great. Scorpions are best suited for borg STF where the the plasma torpedoes melt unshielded targets. I use elite swarmers on everything else since their 360 beam and transphasics have good synergy against shielded targets.

That's not a bad idea to pickup both - and switch them out based on primary targets.
From your response I'm guessing you'd go for the swarmers first then the Scorpions - is that accurate?

Daedalus - any thoughts on gear set? Dyson is nice and shield tanking is no problem, the adapted maco is nice too, or maybe go with fleet gear, the axion deflector and elite covariant shields are pretty nice.
The problem with Dyson is proton barrage is rare to get off and with the maco - the torpedo buff is a waste and the MES from the 3 piece is "meh". Other than that both sets are nice.

For fighters, it depends on where you want to focus time first. Both can work for all PvE content types. I will say that the Scorps are a bit sturdier than the swarmers though. Those swarmers stay so close to their targets that they are regularly wiped by any aoe that comes near them.
For the gear set, Dyson has good synergy with carriers and cruisers. Personally, I like the borg set on my carriers since the set heals are fantastic at boosting survival in such a slow moving space whale. The 4th item set bonus is a free tractor beam, which is also fantastic.
I've tried both the honor guard and maco sets but find myself going back to the borg set pretty often. That said, I haven't used the Dyson set outside of the core and the free trial on the scistroyer. The Dyson core is great for any Aux heavy ship and I highly recommend it. I haven't finished counter command rep so can't speak to that yet.

Counter command is good for DPS builds and high engine power. I threw it on my corvette and am having a real laugh with it, it's like a green streak of chaos across the map - not so good for a carrier though.
Thank you for your insights.

I'd swap the warp core for the Obelisk warp core. You probably aren't getting too much from the dyson 4pc but the Obelisk 2pc gives a bit more AP damage.
You might also check out the Solanae set. A bit less shield tankiness (dhish has no shield system and shield doesn't have the recharge), but the deflector is a bit more offensive oriented, the engine has a proc to raise your maneuverability under fire and the shield has an integral feedback pulse function (though the proc is low). otherwise, I'd agree Borg is good for taking some hits. 2 pc nukara also gives a bit more damage; one of the combinations that's hot right now is 2pc Nukara with counter command deflector.

The 4 piece Dyson proc on the shields is really nice when dealing with gates and tac cubes - I tried the Solanae set as my first set up - I like the Dyson better than the Solanae for the Carrier.
I have the Mk XI borg set so I will be testing that out today, I'll throw the Obelisk warp core on while doing that.
So the nukara 2 piece boosts shields (offers resilients that give a flat 10% reduction to all energy types and an additional bonus against radiation and tet.) and provides a +2.5% bonus to damage.
Adding in the CC deflector offers additional weapons training (more damage)and a nice particle generator boost... I may have to give that a try too. Thank you for the suggestions
