So with the recent Disruptor bonuses, I was tempted to get back into cannons, which required me to get back into my JHEC. Being a numbers guy, I went and gathered data on if it was more or less effective than my JHDC. Someone might be interested (yay, numbers!), hence this thread.

Here are the ships, and the results in ISE. I noted down the DPS from hangers, and subtracted that to get a better comparison.

At least it broke the 10k mark, if we ignore the hangers. That one run where I got 12k I blame on Pitsa@arkainjel and his 27k DPS.

This is still better than when I used Fleet Plasma DHCs with RomPlasma Turrets, with the Proton Weapon and Grav Torpedo. (Having the Proton Weapon in place of another Fleet Plasma DHC resulted in 1.4k more DPS in previous tests.) Don't look down on the Aux2SIF2, there were a few times when I was running near-dead for a while, and all those healing abilities were necessary to keep me intact and shooting - no deaths in any of those runs.

So... yeah. Very obviously, the change to cannons didn't increase DPS enough to offset the loss of one hanger of Elite Scorpions - which dealt an average minimum of 2.5k per hanger. It could be my poor escort piloting skills, but if we deduct the hangers I still lost DPS. I can't be flying worse than before I ever touched the JHDC though, because that DPS is higher than my previous parses oh-so-long ago.

Now the bonus! Which are better, Elite Romulan Scorpion Fighters or Elite Jem'Hadar Attack Ship hangers? Switching just the hangers on my JHDC we get:

The Elite Scorpions win, with 500 more DPS per hanger! This is not unexpected - the nature of eSTFs means that Scorpions with their HYT deal immense damage. Against other things (especially Voth or Undine), the JHAS hangers do outdamage and outlast the Scorpions.

In case anyone is curious, I've revised my BOff layout with advice from Arkainjel, and am tinkering with my gear. Revised build: 21k JHDC.

While I'm currently using the CC Deflector/Nukara Engines/Nukara Shield, I intend to test Nukara Deflector/Romulan Engines/Nukara Shield and CC Deflector/Romulan Engines/Nukara Shield. If the last end up having the higher DPS numbers, I'll grab a Fleet shield instead. I suspect the middle one there will have the highest DPS, though.

Now that's a cool build! My current JHDC is only averaging 14k so I like reading about alternate builds!
