This is not a lie! Viacom may go after Star Trek Fans!!!
It has been reported that Viacom is taking legal action against Youtube and may soon take action against the Youtube community. This is no doubt cause for concern as they are removing falsely accused videos as well. Viacom is even asking for a billion dollars for 63,000 videos. Some believe its 15,000 per video. Innocent families and children could be sued and legally assaulted by the large company that's becoming too big for its own shorts. Since Viacom is the managing company of Star Trek, we may find ourselves in a horrible situation, as the videos could lead to more lawsuits against loyal Star Trek guilds as our own if they somehow become so vile as to do so.

oh my god. This is like a chain mail telling me my dog will be shot in the head if I don't staple my tongue to a chunk of solidified horse crap and pass the message, along with a picture to 10 people.
Sad for Viacom, all these public videos are free advertising for them. Their main target will be the full episodes and any sponsored materials used, as well as illegal music combined to Star Trek Media.... They don't want to have Linkin park represent star trek do they? (although it'd probably boost their sales)
I think you have over done this "red alert" and I think you don't really have the permission to start a frantic chaos theory over a fat bearded guys video.
as such, I suggest you edit your post and title, or an IA Representative does it for you.
I'm sure there are areas in UFP that will look into this more seriously than posting a craze!
JAG for instance is basically our legal arm, why not get them onto it!

lol, I have to agree with Neo guys, this isn't worth panicking over. Viacom isn't suddenly going to go on a rampage suing people left and right for uploading something to do with Star Trek. Viacom have been going after YouTube for quite some time now, and as far as I can ascertain their beef is with people uploading (as Neo already stated), episodes of programmes or films they own, as well as music. The real target here though is Google, who own YouTube. They claim not enough has been done to take down illegal content, while in a surprising move (surprising to me anyway) Google accused Viacom of purposefully uploading videos with this illegal content in order to make a bigger fuss of the situation.
It's been quite an interesting back and forth to watch on the news. Google is where the money is, and it wouldn't surprise me if Viacom was looking for some underhanded way to get its hands on it.
In any case, as Neo has suggested I believe an edit of your post is in order. No need to incite hysteria over something like this. The worst anyone will likely experience if any video they have online contains material Viacom has an issue with, is that it'll be removed, either audio, or audio and video.

Yeah. I over reacted on the title.
But the whole thing is true. Viacom just sent me a message that if I don't take down my music video within three days, they will remove it for another 15,000 from youtube.
